Executive Team

  • Noah Rubinstein, LMFT, LMHC    Founder and CEO

Noah is a licensed marriage and family therapist and mental health counselor who has worked with individuals, couples, and families for 25-plus years in various social service, counseling, and consultation roles within different communities, including mental health clinics, residential treatment centers, emergency shelters, hospice organizations, home-based therapy programs, summer camps, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and in private practice.

The holder of a master's degree in counseling psychology from Humboldt State University, Noah launched GoodTherapy.org in 2007 as a platform to advocate for ethical mental health treatment and to challenge the application of the medical and pathology-based approaches within mental health. His efforts and vision for psychotherapy have been featured extensively in the media, including numerous radio and television interviews and print articles.

Noah’s mission to protect people in therapy, to protect the practice of psychotherapy, and to support therapists working in collaborative, empowering, and non-pathologizing ways comes from a place of deep care about the potential for psychotherapy. Noah believes psychotherapy can help individuals reunite with their true self, that core within all of us that embodies calm, compassion, confidence, satisfaction, wisdom, and a deeper connection to and awareness of others.

Noah jokes that, similar to the person behind Hair Club, he’s not only the founder of GoodTherapy.org, he’s also a client. Because therapy, as he attests, pretty much saved his life, and because, as a therapist himself, he has seen psychotherapy transform the lives of many others, he views psychotherapy as a sacred practice. He believes it is sacred because it not only has the potential to dramatically restore an individual’s life, but because it, in turn, can change the world. Given the great potential of psychotherapy, the mission and vision of GoodTherapy.org is aimed at addressing four harmful trends within the field of mental health that threaten psychotherapy: the medical model, big pharma, myths and stigmas about psychotherapy, and the small percentage of therapists who abuse their power and get their emotional needs met at the expense of the people they work with.

When not at the office, Noah is usually placating his 9- and 7-year-old boys by dressing up as Nacho Libre or Batman and having endless wrestling matches with them.

  • Jennifer Shin    Chief Financial Officer

Jen has been part of the GoodTherapy.org team since 2011. She worked in the banking industry for 15 years as an auditor and manager before becoming a bookkeeper in 2010. Her love of numbers and passion for finding balance in her work and family life has made for a rewarding career change.

In addition to her love of books and music, Jen enjoys being a wife and a mother to two fabulous kids. She and her family love to pack up the car for road trips whenever free time allows it. She also serves as treasurer for the parent-teacher association at her children's school.

  • Jenn Feldmann    Chief Information Officer

Jennifer brings a life-long love of learning to GoodTherapy.org, where she has overseen programming and web development for over half a decade. She spearheaded the site’s recent redesign, resulting in cleaner aesthetics, better functionality, and a more engaging and user-friendly interface.

The owner of a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Eastern Washington University, Jennifer is now pursuing a master’s of business administration in information technology management. She integrates the practices and theories she’s learning in her work on a daily basis, all the while helping her colleagues navigate and troubleshoot the technology they use to keep GoodTherapy.org running smoothly.

During her spare time, Jennifer enjoys being with loved ones and her dogs, and especially loves spending time in her backyard/garden or in her craft room sewing, crocheting, or working on whatever creative project strikes her fancy. She attributes her creative spirit to her mother, a former elementary music teacher, and her love of computers to her dad, who gave Jennifer her first computer when she was 8.

  • Chesna Klimek, MA    Chief Operating Officer

Chesna has been with GoodTherapy.org since the company's formative years. She brings her interest and understanding of human psychology and communication to her work as editor in chief. In this role, Chesna collaborates with GoodTherapy.org's dedicated team to ensure that the site offers helpful information and resources to people interested in therapy and mental health, as well as quality continuing education events for therapist members. Paramount to Chesna's work is a desire to uphold the mission and vision of GoodTherapy.org.

Raised by two public school teachers, Chesna appreciates the value of a good education and attributes many of the skills she brings to the team to her academic experiences. In 2012, Chesna completed a Master in Counseling Psychology program, including a 700-plus-hour clinical internship providing direct therapy services to children and families in her community. Prior to that, Chesna graduated magna cum laude from Western Washington University with a bachelor's degree in communication (minor in English). Preceding her studies in the humanities, she earned an associate's degree in business.

A longtime equestrian, Chesna enjoys caring for, training, and competing her horses, as well as helping others to improve the partnerships they have with their horses. She also writes for equestrian publications and blogs. An outdoorsperson at heart, Chesna delights in the daily aspects of farm living, as well as reading, writing, and traveling.
