As a relationship-licensed therapist with specialized training in marriage and family therapy, I enjoy supporting individuals and couples in better understanding their attachment style and family beliefs in order to heal and improve how they show up in their relationships. In action, this looks like enhancing communication with a partner, improving family interactions, healing relational trauma, and/or navigating the inevitable challenges that come along with being a parent. I view my clients in the context of their relationships. In initial sessions with me, we will explore your family history and other important relationships throughout the course of your life. Relationships can be our safest haven or the root of pain and trauma. Often, what we learn from our primary relationships as children predicts how we interact in our relationships as adults—whether it’s with friends, colleagues, romantic partners, or other family members. Understanding these dynamics can lead to a greater sense of self-worth and more meaningful connections with others.
I have been trained in many therapeutic approaches. My style is interpersonal and analytical. I look at the whole person and believe that you know yourself better than anyone. I will work together with you to explore the issues you choose to discuss and to help you uncover the options you have to living the quality life you wish to lead.
I specialize in helping people overcome anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I use a proven type of treatment called Exposure Therapy, a type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which research shows is the most effective treatment for all types of anxiety and OCD. Exposure Therapy involves purposely confronting feared triggers and thoughts so we retrain your brain that they are not actually dangerous and the thoughts and situations that lead to anxiety eventually lose their power and no longer provoke anxiety. I would be a good fit for you if you are looking for clear, straightforward direction on what to do about your anxiety problem. My approach is not traditional talk therapy where we spend most of the time simply talking about the problem; I will show you exactly what to do about it, then we will practice it together and I will help you implement it into your life so it works. If you are going to invest the time and money in therapy with me, I want you to get results and I want you to get them as quickly as possible. I am passionate about helping people get relief from anxiety and OCD and if you are suffering with anxiety, I would love to help you.
You’re holding it together—mostly. You show up for work, friends, and family, and maybe even remember to water your plants. But under the surface, you’re tired, stuck, and running on autopilot without the joy or spark you used to have. You don’t have to wait for a crisis to start feeling better. Here, therapy might happen in an office, or it might happen walking the foothills, paddleboarding the river, or moving under an open sky. Because sometimes, the best breakthroughs happen outside four walls. At Flowing Connections Counseling, therapy is tailored to your life. Sometimes that means a quiet, focused office session. Other times, it’s adventure therapy—walking, hiking, biking, or paddleboarding while we talk. Movement and nature help untangle thoughts, lower stress, and create space for clarity. Whether in-person, online, or outdoors, every session is designed to help you feel calm, connected, and capable again. In my work, I blend professional counseling with the power of movement and the outdoors for a full 60-minute session. For some, that means adventure therapy sessions in nature. For others, it’s traditional therapy in a welcoming space. Either way, my goal is the same: to equip you with tools, insight, and confidence so you can navigate life without feeling stuck or dependent on therapy forever. This is about autonomy, growth, and building a life you love—inside and out. I know what it’s like to feel capable on the outside, but restless and uncertain on the inside. Through movement, connection, and intention, I’ve experienced the shift from survival mode to a life that feels purposeful, steady, and full of possibility. Now, I’m here to walk, sometimes literally alongside you as you create that same shift for yourself.
My name is Joe, and I’m a licensed therapist specializing in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), with a deep passion for helping people create meaningful lives grounded in their personal goals and values. My journey into therapy began with a simple, but powerful belief: that every person deserves the opportunity to heal and grow in a way that feels authentic to them. I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside clients through a range of challenges—trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, mental health issues, and life transitions. I utilize eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is a powerful tool for processing trauma, anxiety, and painful memories. Whether someone is struggling with the impact of a specific event or feeling stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand, EMDR allows us to work at the root level to create meaningful change. More than just healing from the past, I help clients build lives that are truly aligned with their personal values and principles. I believe therapy is not only about feeling better—it’s about becoming more connected to who you are, and what matters most to you.
My training as a social worker included the experience of providing care as a Child Welfare provider for 21 years helping families and children work through issues of abuse and neglect to improve their relationships. Prior to that I worked providing couples and individual counseling. Earlier in my career, I also taught elementary school and worked in a group home. Through my work and life experience I have gained wisdom and desire to share my education and life experience in creating with you the life you desire to live. I believe in using therapy to empower individuals to find mental and emotional well-being and increased quality of life. I am a lifelong learner who loves to research the newest trends in mental and emotional well-being and utilize techniques to help strengthen families, couples, and individuals.
Throughout the process of our human life, we cross thresholds into new life experiences that open opportunities of individual awareness. These personal awakenings create openings to moments of becoming greater than what we currently are. Together, we explore life experiences; creating meaning and purpose in moments of everyday living. Along with working with individuals I am also a level II PACT couples therapist trained in the psychobiological approach to couples therapy. Using the principles of neuroscience, attachment theory, and biology of human arousal I will support you while assisting you in learning powerful strategies to implement desired change in your relationship. I am also trained as a sex addiction and sexual recovery therapist. My initial training in master’s level clinical work began at Pacifica Graduate Institute. This individual focused training emphasizes psychological forces such as feelings and emotions that influence behaviors. In essence, asking how our pasts effects our present. My ongoing training consists of specializations in treating Complex- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
If you are here, you are taking the first steps to change, and change can be hard. I help adults with trauma who find themselves avoiding or missing meaningful and important experiences in their life due to their struggles. I am a compassionate and curious counselor that helps clients develop insight and awareness into their symptoms, while also teaching skills to change their relationships with their difficult thoughts and emotions. My hope is to give clients the insight, knowledge, and skills so they can live a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Skill building is an important part of my therapeutic approach to help clients manage their struggles inside and outside of the office. My counseling entails modalities that help create emotional openness and regulation, flexible thinking, compassionate self-talk, and valued based behaviors. I am also trained in EMDR to help process deeper trauma. Reaching out for help can be difficult and scary. However, if you are wanting to get out of unhelpful cycles and behaviors, and start to live a more valued based life, I would be honored to work with you towards your goals. If you feel like we are a good match, or would like a free consultation, you can call, email, or make an appointment on my website.
Hello, I am happy to meet you. My name is Jennifer Hancock, I am a Licensed Master of Social Work or LMSW. I earned my Master’s degree from Northwest Nazarene University in 2020. My internship was with the Assertive Clinical Treatment (ACT) team, located within the Department of Health and Welfare, in Caldwell, Idaho. This internship gave me the opportunity to work alongside fellow social workers and other mental health professionals in assessing and maintaining the safety and comfort of adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses. I am passionate about providing therapeutic support to those in our LGBTQIA+ community and their loved ones. I work with children, adolescents, and adults who need a little extra help when life gets a little rough. We are all human, first. We will make mistakes, and we sometimes don’t treat one another or ourselves with respect and dignity. I am passionate about helping people build empowerment and love within themselves and learn how to treat themselves with grace when mistakes are made. I am trained in the Gottman Method, Level I for marriage and couples counseling. I utilize holistic methods of therapy: mindfulness, mapping the nervous system, guided meditations, to assist clients with emotional regulation and trauma work. Alongside these methods, I also enjoy sharing the therapeutic qualities of movement and nature through walk-and-talk therapy. When the weather permits, and if you’re willing, I’d like to take you on a small walk during session. I also bring my English Setter, Annie, to work with me every day. Annie is well trained and is great at offering emotional support as my co-therapist. My goals are to help you unpack the past, develop your present self authentically, and give hope to your future self. You are priceless; there will never be another you in all the history of mankind and the universe. You are unique, and worth the effort you place in your mental health treatment.
My approach to helping people is to meet them where they are -- to obtain a healthy rapport to build trust and recognize the goals clients are wanting to obtain. I believe we all have stress in our life that can be overwhelming and when a crisis hits on top of daily life, it can be devastating. Talking things through and realizing that there are options available is not only helpful, it is a healthy way of getting through the rough areas of life. I have been told I am down to earth, easy to talk to and trustworthy. I believe these traits are easily seen when meeting others and with these traits a sense of safety is felt helping communication and the sharing of experiences. There are many things we are faced with that seem unbearable. Talking helps!
