If you've found yourself here, it's likely because you're facing challenges that feel insurmountable right now. You may be gripped by anxiety, overwhelmed by sadness, or just stuck in a cycle you can't seem to break. It's okay. I want you to know that it's okay to ask for help, and it's okay to want to feel better. I am here to help guide you through these challenges and find healing. When you walk into my therapy space, I aim to make you feel safe and understood. No judgment, no clichés, just an empathetic ear and a guiding hand. I recognize the importance of feeling heard, especially when trusting someone with your most vulnerable thoughts. That's why I create a compassionate environment where you can freely explore your emotions and thoughts. How do we go about this? The simple answer is: collaboratively. Therapy is a partnership. My approach is centered around you—your needs, your strengths, your goals. I employ a blend of client-centered and strength-based therapies. What that means for you is an adaptive, tailor-made strategy to empower you to make meaningful changes in your life. We all have an innate resilience and a set of strengths that can serve us, even when it doesn't feel that way. By working together, we can identify yours and utilize them to tackle the issues you're facing. Whether you're grappling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or any number of emotional challenges, we will set realistic goals and work diligently to achieve them. Expect to be validated, challenged, and supported through this therapeutic journey. The path to well-being is rarely a straight line; it's filled with ups and downs. But working together, we'll find your healing moment.
You may be feeling a great sense of disconnectedness, maybe from your partner, your body, or even yourself. You may have tried countless attempts to fix this sense of disconnection but find yourself caught in the same loop over and over again. Deeply, you know there needs to be change, but you may find yourself struggling with where to begin. As your therapist, I will create a space that feels safe, welcoming, and authentic. My role is to help guide you through the processes of relational work. Whether that is your relationship to yourself or to your partner(s), my goal is to help establish authentic connections in all your relationships. Therapy is a place where you can show up fully as yourself, messy and imperfect, and know that that is enough. I employ a mixture of emotionally focused and narrative approaches, where we will focus on your story as well as the feelings behind it. I believe fully in the transformative power of pleasure and love. We deserve to be fully seen without judgment. Together we can slow down the moments that feel like they may overtake you and make sense of the deeper meaning underneath. Moving you closer to the type of relationships that you deserve.
I pull from a variety of different therapeutic modalities to offer relief from usual and unusual life circumstances. My approach is highly tailored to each individual and the situation at hand. I take pride in understanding the unique perspectives of my clients with an appreciation for each person's distinct background. In practice, I've learned that a client should feel some comfort and a connection with their therapist within their first session. Some therapeutic progress, relief, andor a sense of a working relationship should be experienced by session two.
I truly believe in connecting with my clients based on where they are in life and understanding the unique stories that shape each person. By working closely together, I help my clients find practical solutions while honoring their personal stories. I see every challenge as a chance for personal growth. with the awareness that people are doing the best they can and aiming to keep getting better.
A healthy mind is the best predictor of a happy life! I am passionate about helping people find happiness and develop the capacity to treat themselves with kindness, connect with others, and find purpose in their life. I have an active style and have developed a "healthy mind approach" to helping. This means we focus on feeling resilient, stable, strong, balanced, and happier rather than on mental illness. In this process, we will determine what gives you a sense of well-being and happiness. I will then support and teach strategies for strengthening positive feelings and mind-states. This may be in the form of mindfulness practices, brain-based tools, strategies for connecting with others or finding a greater purpose. For grieving people, I help address the most difficult symptoms while processing the loss and returning to a sense of balance and hope. I am an experienced and mature therapist with work experience, training, and personal history that qualifies me for this important work.

Now Accepting New Clients Welcome. I'm glad you're here. It takes enormous courage to reach out for help. We deserve to be seen, heard, listened to, and understood. Each person has a unique story, and our struggles may give rise to life difficulties. As we understand the origins of your unique distress, we are able to design a plan to restore good health. We can consider current situations and stresses, biology, social concerns, thoughts, and experiences as we learn about what is troubling you. I am fortunate to have many years of experience and constant study that allow me to offer you a menu of methods for relief. You decide what works for you. My role is to be a mentor, a support, and a teacher. Above all, together we will find hope. As a psychologist and a nurse, I am able to understand complex physical and mental health issues. With over 40 years in practice, I have learned a wide range of methods that can help you feel better. Therapy is an investment in yourself. Sometimes just a few sessions will provide what you are looking for, and other times we are able to work together over time. My approach is flexible and nonjudgmental. I offer unconditional acceptance as we look for relief. I encourage you to talk with several therapists to see who might be a good match.
My psychotherapy practice is based on a few essential beliefs: 1) Creating emotional safety and mutual trust is at the heart of the therapy process. 2) The therapeutic relationship is the vehicle to healing and growing. 3) Humans need connection/relationship in order to thrive, along with a sense of autonomy, and a deep sense of being known and loved in spite of our flaws. 4) Our brains and bodies are biologically hard wired for survival; our earliest relationships teach us what we need to do to feel safe. This hard wiring can change if we have healing interaction with others. 5) Couples/Families can create safety for each other if they learn new ways of relating. 6) Therapy is not an endless process. I offer individualized therapy and through the work my clients find that: they develop a stronger self image, recognize what they can and cannot control, decrease anxiety and conflict in close relationships and in relationships at work, create emotional safety for those they love as well as for themselves, cope with stress using new skills, understand the connections between what they think, feel, and believe, are able to be more self aware, and learn to live life with a sense of intention, satisfaction, comfort, and pleasure. I have been a successful therapist for almost four decades, with ongoing training in different therapies. My approach is integrative, relational, and is tailored to the needs of my clients. Over the years I have been with clients as they discover or share their darkest experiences and most shameful secrets. It is a privilege to work with people, listen to them, witness their life experience, and and empower the to lighten the weight they carry. It is also a privilege to witness as repair in relationships takes place, and to be with patients as they experience growth, strive for goals, and find satisfaction and joy in their endeavors.
Daniel Linehan has 19 years of clinical experience and is a fully certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) who’s effectively counseled numerous individuals, couples, and families. He is certified in CBT, REBT, and TEAM-CBT. He also practices Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), EMDR, and Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). One of his specialties is with co-dependents struggling to get out of unhealthy relationships and learning how to prevent falling into the same patterns in a new relationship. Daniel is known for his direct, engaging, and interactive style and warm approach. He can sense his clients' thoughts and feelings and shows compassion and acceptance when listening and interacting. The goal for the client is always moving towards living the kind of life they want to live. What that looks like is different for everyone because we all have our own set of values, but the stronger our values, the harder it can be to accept ourselves and others in the world. Daniel helps clients find that balance for themselves! He challenges his clients, engages them, and gets positive results. Daniel teaches clients how to be their own therapist to help them cope on their own and lead self-fulfilling lives. Dan's clients see him as compassionate, funny, and, most importantly, he is not the type of therapist who sits back and nods their head the entire session. Daniel challenges clients and gets results without judgment.
I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds with various presenting problems. I prefer working with individuals who are struggling with various life issues, particularly life transitions. My work with adults focuses on the challenges they may experience in life. Some of these pertain to identity development, interpersonal conflicts, sexuality, relationship status, religious or spiritual beliefs, anxiety, depression, racial or ethnic identity concerns, low self-esteem, and stress. I usually operate from a cognitive behavioral approach and I take into consideration the relational dynamic between the therapist and client in the room as well as the clients’ relationships in and outside of therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to set goals and have specialized training to work with clients of various religious backgrounds. I completed a Master of Arts degree in Theology and Ministry and a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree in Clinical Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary. I also previously obtained a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and have been working in the n the mental health field for over ten years.
