I help individuals process change - wanted or unwanted. Losses are important to recognize and acknowledge their importance. Some losses we experienced earlier this week, others happened to us while we were quite young. I'll educate to acknowledge the presence of emotions, monitor emotions, and the ability to listen to their important messages that will lead to growth and behavior that is beneficial! I've found I'm a great fit for the 20-something to 40-something man who isn't easily aware of his emotions and therefore may be experiencing shortcomings (or roadblocks) in his life. Clients who work in the Arts, Education, Finance, and Entrepreneurs find my style complimentary to their own strengths and perspectives.
You are taking an important step in healing and growth that will enable you to make more positive choices moving forward. If you are experiencing symptoms of depression or anxiety, grief or loss, having relationship difficulties, demonstrating communication problems or just feeling "stuck," contact me at Three Steps Forward to discuss how counseling can help you. My mission is to provide a counseling experience that is comfortable, soothing and empowering. Each session is tailored to your particular needs. Together, we will clarify what you hope to gain from this experience overall. I understand that counseling may be the first opportunity for you to feel truly heard and understood. I will listen to what you say in session, as well as what you don't say, and I'll be mirroring that back to you. I can help you move past the depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. We will work together to challenge the maladaptive stories and unhealthy messages you've been carrying around with you to develop a healthier, more encouraging script that will spur you to move forward, make conscious choices, and note your progress throughout. I favor an active approach to therapy and employ many cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as an incredibly impactful tool called Rapid Transformational Therapy which incorporates Hypnosis.
Battling anxiety day in and out is exhausting. You’re tired of imagining worst-case-scenarios and can’t seem to turn off the constant "what if" thoughts. Feelings of discomfort or panic may be leading you to avoid certain places or situations, and it’s difficult to make sense of why this is happening in the first place. Hearing things like, "it's all in your head," or "don't worry so much," makes us feel even worse, like somehow anxiety is our fault. I want to assure you, anxiety is not a choice or something we can just will away. If it was that simple, anxiety wouldn't be the most common mental health diagnosis in the entire U.S. So many of us have been there, including me! I want to help empower you to gain relief from anxiety and reclaim control of your life. Please know that positive change is possible, and within reach. Can you imagine the liberating feeling of making choices based on your values, rather than your fears? I specialize in helping people overcome anxiety and take back control of their lives. My clients often share how much they appreciate my authentic, warm approach, as well as the significant changes they've been able to accomplish through our work together. Contact me on Good Therapy or visit my website for a free 15-minute phone consultation. You can ask any questions and explore if I'm a good fit for you (if not, I'm always happy to assist with referrals). Anxiety is treatable, and you deserve support! While starting something new can be scary, I’m here to make the process as comfortable as possible.

I believe that everyone encounters situations in life that call for guidance. Sometimes it's a life change that requires temporary support - or it can be more involved, such as recurring patterns or distressing events that require more long term exploration. I believe you are the expert in your own life and have the answers you need within. My goal is to offer a safe, sacred, non-judgmental and supportive space for you to find them. My approach is direct and down to earth. I want the people I work with to get what they need so they can manage their lives more effectively and joyously.
Maybe people accuse you of being paranoid when really they are at fault. Maybe you are hearing talking or having other unusual experiences, that are freaking you out or stopping you getting things done. Maybe you are concerned for a loved one, who seems to be experiencing these things and you don't know how to help? You are not alone! I will hear you out and begin to help you make sense of what is happening. I use a therapy called Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy which has been proven to be effective for this, giving you tools to manage stressors yourself without having to be in therapy for ever. You will begin to learn strategies to help feel calmer and more safe. We will figure out what is getting in the way of your goals and how to overcome those obstacles (or survive them). I will not tell you that you are sick, wrong or bad. You will feel understood. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I work with clients ranging from age 9 to individuals in their late 60s. My treatment approach is integrative and client-centered, incorporating mindfulness and empathy to create a supportive and personalized therapeutic experience tailored to each client's unique needs. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds, as varied experiences help me grow as a clinician. However, I particularly enjoy working with clients in their 30s and 40s facing past trauma, maladaptive habits, and relationship challenges. They seek therapy to reduce anxiety and depression, heal, and build healthier relationships. Many recognize these struggles have persisted too long and are ready for change. This age group often has more autonomy, allowing for deeper engagement. Seeing visible progress over time makes the healing journey both rewarding and transformative. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, using an integrative, client-centered approach to foster personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional healing. I help clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and relationship difficulties by providing a safe and supportive space where they feel heard and understood. Through mindfulness techniques, empathetic guidance, and personalized interventions, I empower individuals to develop coping skills, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and build resilience. My goal is to support clients in gaining insight into their emotions and behaviors while fostering meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
You are in your 20s or 30s and are struggling to stay present because anxiety, negative self-talk, and past experiences keep weighing on you. Maybe your inner critic feels louder than ever, making it hard to manage the demands of work, relationships, or school. I will dedicate our sessions to empower you to make changes, build confidence, and provide you with insight, hope, and support. I believe therapy is not “one size fits all.” In a personalized approach, we will explore how your past experiences shape the way you see yourself today, while building skills to manage emotions and navigate challenges. Above all, our work will be grounded in a connection that is supportive, comforting, and sometimes humorous, giving you the space to grow. I am accepting new in-person sessions in Hoboken, NJ, and virtual sessions, and I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation.
Therapy is where real change begins—with compassion, understanding, and practical tools for growth. I believe every person’s story is unique, shaped by past experiences and present challenges. My commitment is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel understood and empowered. Using a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic approaches, I help you explore how past experiences influence your current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll uncover the patterns that shape your life, and develop personalized strategies for meaningful change. My approach is both insight-oriented and skills-based, providing practical tools and techniques to strengthen your confidence and resilience beyond the therapy room. My ultimate goal is to help you feel whole and empowered, equipped with the skills to navigate life’s inevitable challenges, strengthen relationships, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I am a Certified Gestalt Psychotherapist.
