My clients are the drivers of their therapy and I encourage them to use the time and space as they need. I provide prompts and thought-provoking questions when the client feels they are "stuck" and encourage self-growth.

At People Not Problems, I approach therapy as a collaborative journey, where together, we uncover the meanings and experiences shaping your life. I believe in creating a space where we can re-author stories, not just by addressing challenges but by inviting transformation. With a deep respect for each client's unique narrative, I help clients explore and experience new ways of relating that foster connection, resilience, and clarity. My work is grounded in empathy and guided by the principles of systemic therapy. We’ll examine relational dynamics, past influences, and the dilemmas you face as you move toward meaningful change. I don’t offer quick fixes but instead focus on lasting, second-order change that resonates deeply across all aspects of your life. This approach allows us to move beyond just what hurts today, empowering you to live with a renewed sense of purpose and possibility.
I specialize in narrative therapy, where I help clients understand their story and then remove obstacles so they can heal in a deep and lasting way. I have helped hundreds of men break free from the bondage of sexual addiction. I also assist with many other addictions that keep us from living free and whole lives, such as work, exercise, gambling, video games, alcohol, and marijuana. I have also found that I do my best work with clients who are burnt out on life, angry at God, or can’t seem to find their purpose. My early career took me through accounting and finance roles in one of the Big Four accounting firms, national warehouses, and a handful of smaller organizations, giving me firsthand experience in the complex dynamics of corporate life. I also bring the discipline and resilience honed through my service in the United States Marine Corps, where I completed two deployments, including one in Iraq, before being honorably discharged as a Sergeant. What’s missing from the bio above is a huge pile of shit that occurred in the two decades leading up to my decision to change my life and become a therapist. My own story is actually my greatest credential as a therapist. The wounds, brokenness, and stupidity of my youth made me desperate enough to finally seek help. I underwent a process of healing that completely changed the person I was. I’m here to help you harness your strengths and overcome obstacles with a blend of real-world business acumen and mental health expertise that’s uniquely tailored to support your success.

Has someone in your life told you that drinking or drugs are a problem for you? They're wrong! Your use is not the problem, it's a solution! Substances help us cope with the slings and arrows of life. Drinking is merely a symptom of something deeper with which you’re struggling. We need to get down to the causes and conditions of your substance use. My name is Adam, I’m in long-term recovery and I would like to give you something that was given to me. If you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, please call me. Let’s see if we’re a good fit for each other. My approach to therapy is simple but not easy, we are going to do some work. First, are you ready to be completely honest with yourself? If you can say “yes” then you may be ready to get clean and sober. If you’re not quite ready to give up alcohol, we can also look at harm reduction in your drinking, there is a solution and there is hope. Would you like to work with a guy that has been where you've been? Maybe you feel it’s too late? Maybe you feel you’ve already lost people? There is hope, countless people recover from drugs and alcohol every day, why not you? Let’s talk, call me right now.t
As a therapist with a strong foundation in relational work, I bring over 15 years of experience helping clients deepen their self-awareness, navigate challenges, and build more intentional lives. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in marriage and family therapy, and have worked across a range of settings, including intensive treatment environments. While I specialize in couples and family therapy, I also enjoy working with individuals—especially young adults—who are exploring who they are, what they want, and how to move forward with clarity and confidence. In individual therapy, I help clients manage life transitions, career decisions, and the often complicated terrain of relationships—romantic, platonic, or familial. I often work with clients on building self-esteem, processing unresolved trauma, developing healthy coping strategies, and creating a more supportive relationship with their emotions. I strive to be a nonjudgmental sounding board and collaborative guide, helping people uncover patterns and make meaningful, lasting change. On a personal level, I’m a mom and part of a family system where I, too, navigate the joys and complexities of close relationships. I consider myself a lifelong learner and often turn to books for new insights and perspectives—not just professionally, but to better understand myself and others. I also provide couples and family therapy. Are you having a difficult time communicating with your loved one? Do you desperately want love, affection, and support from your loved one? Do you feel like you're banging your head against a wall every time you interact with one another? I am here to help. I specialize in working with couples and families who are in distress. We all hit road bumps in our relationships, and we sometimes need a third, non-biased party to help everyone get back on track. I am a natural skeptic, so I only use evidence-based, brief psychotherapy practices that are designed for you to get relief as soon as possible. I love to read, specifically about the latest research on how to make your relationships work. I will use that knowledge to help you and your family. My goal is to get your relationship working again, reconnect, and have joy with one another. I have a specific niche in working with a couple or a family where at least one member has a diagnosed mental health condition. I help family members navigate that often stressful dynamic to regain hope and help their loved one toward recovery. I have worked extensively with families whose loved one has eating issues, substance abuse issues, and personality challenges. I look forward to hearing from you to see how I can help you and your family. Call or email me.

I think of therapy as teamwork and a wonderful exercise in cooperation. For the last 17 years I have had the privilege of seeing many people meet their goals and really come into their own. It continues to give me a profound sense of satisfaction. I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
Life has gotten more stressfull. Worries about health, the economy, and how to navigate this new world we are living in start to pile up. Relationships become strained, always together, but hardly any quality time. Can't do the things we used to do for fun. It's tough to see how we get through this. Find ourselves getting angry over little things that never used to be an issue. Avoid things, distract, numb ourselves but the problems are still there. Try to talk about it and then things blow up. Have often thought about counseling, but put it off? Now is the time to invest in yourself - you deserve to be happy! Sometimes we need someone by our side who knows how to get through these tough times! I have years of experience and have helped hundreds of people find happiness and heal their relationships. With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I help individuals learn practical skills that they can use for the rest of their lives to create greater fulfillment. In CBT we learn to recognize and change the unhealthy thoughts that make us miserable. You can stop worrying and learn to feel calm. Improve motivation and create postive changes. Feel happy again! CBT is also the key to stopping bad habits and increasing healthy behavior. Learn to have more control over your life and be the person you want to be! In Relationship Coaching, we work as a team to identify your goals and start to dream again. Couples build upon strengths and create the life that they really want. This is not about rehashing the past, its about focusing on changing today for a better future. Increase communication, understand each other better, be united and support each other more fully. Regain passion that has been lost. Change gears and figure out what's next. Start enjoying your life together again!
As a therapist, I value your insight as much as my own. When I first started therapy for myself years ago, I was fortunate to have a therapist who asked me what I thought would help. This stuck with me through the years. I now use this approach with my own clients. I view you as the expert on your life, with my role being to work in collaboration with you to find realistic goals and solutions based on your unique circumstances.
