Have you said to yourself "IF" I make enough money, lose weight, get married, have kids, etc., "THEN" I will be happy, content, or joyous, only to find that you are left feeling just as incomplete as before you made those accomplishments? Have you gotten to a point in your life where the "if-then" statements you make to yourself have left you feeling unworthy and critical of yourself? Do you ever find yourself fixated on your worth as a person, parent, or loved one? Using an eclectic approach I help clients find their worth, ease their critical voice, and create a joyous life through self-acceptance.

My client-centered and reality-based approach is reflective of my interpersonal style which embraces humor, candor, and relatability. My goal is always to help each person achieve the goals they've identified for themselves. Sometimes people come in unhappy and dissatisfied with their lives but can't articulate what's "wrong". In those cases, we work together to get to the root of their troubles so our goals for therapy can become clearer and we can work towards real solutions. I affirm everyone's ability to change his or her life in a positive way. By utilizing a few time-tested treatment models and integrating them according to each persons' needs, we can find a rhythm and process that really works. Motivation, support, guidance, compassion, honesty, and empowerment are things people can expect to receive from me in the therapeutic process because those are the things I would want for myself!

EMDR (eye movement, desensitization and reprocessing) is one specific form of trauma treatment I incorporate, as appropriate. For those who desire spiritual integration, I can help people understand themselves as it pertains to their faith journey. Why do we pick partners who can't meet important needs, even when we deeply love them at first? Why don't our partners understand us? Why don't they love us more or better? We imagine that if we meet the perfect partner, we'll love them forever. They'll perfectly understand us, always knowing how to help and support us. Why can't we find that person? Why is the partner we have so annoying? People struggle with these questions whether they are single, partnered, married, or divorced and considering trying it all again. To answer these questions, it's important to look at our own growth process, as well as our partner's growth process. Self-awareness is key to change. I'm a certified Jungian analyst. I work work with couples and individuals to navigate issues centering around forming and maintaining intimate relationships.
When over-functioning, high levels of achievement, and basic coping skills aren't leading to life satisfaction, it is time to look inward. Welcome! I utilize attachment-based therapy to help women with anxiety heal from unprocessed trauma and increase self-confidence. Many of my clients were responsible, mature children and adolescents who learned to stay safe and succeed through people-pleasing, avoidance, perfectionism, hyper-independence, and over-achieving. As adults, they often sacrifice their own needs to care for others. They may be hard workers at work but feel underappreciated. They may experience high levels of anxiety in relationships leading to avoiding closeness with others or clinging on tightly when their abandonment wounds are activated. They often feel like nothing they do is ever good enough, fear that others will reject them if they do not excel, or need to constantly prove themselves. I work with clients to explore the origins of their anxiety so that together we can process unresolved trauma, increase distress tolerance, and find new ways to self-soothe that allow them to live more freely and authentically.
I hold a safe nonjudgmental space where you can explore, learn new tools, and challenge beliefs that aren't working anymore.
One of the greatest gifts we have to offer is calm in the midst of chaos. If you are looking for a therapist for you or someone you care about then somewhere there is turmoil. Rarely do we seek help when things are good in our lives. My job is to be the sounding board so that you can process in a safe non threatening environment what is going on in your life that is causing distress. Sometimes the process is to get you unstuck and help you push through a decision that needs to be made. Or, it is to slow you down from being in a reactive phase and then move toward a proactive state. Learning how to pause and recognize the things in which we have control over is a gift because then you can move towards decreasing frustration and anxiety. Learning to focus on your strengths and the strengths of others allows us to experience our world in a more positive manner. It is often difficult to experience what is good in our life when we focus on the bad. And when we know what is good, right, or happy we can do more of it! Leaning mindful techniques will help increase internal and external awareness. Increasing communication skills will help us to connect our reality to others. Please join me in the process...
