The therapist is supportive but it is a different kind of support from the kind a friend could provide because the therapist is objective, neutral and non-judgmental. The process should not be intimidating or make you feel like a specimen in a microscope. You are a person with a unique set of circumstances and feelings. I am a general practitioner treating depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and marriagerelationship problems. My practice specializes in the treatment of addiction as well as insomnia. My interest in addiction treatment is both personal and professional as I have been in recovery for my own addictions for nearly 25 years. I am a nationally certified master addiction counselor through NAADAC and have worked with addicts of all kinds for many years. Specifically, alcoholism, drug addiction, codependency and eating disorders are the addictions I treat most regularly. I treat insomnia using the extremely effective method of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. There have been dozens of clinical studies done that overwhelmingly indicate of the efficacy of CBTI over drugs.
