Collaborative Helping: A Practice Framework for Family-Centered Services

Across North America, services for families are undergoing profound changes. Practitioners are searching for effective models to develop strength-based, culturally responsive, empowering partnerships with families. This workshop offers a flexible practice framework to put family-centered principles into action in the everyday "messiness" of this work. Drawing on Appreciative Inquiry, Motivational Interviewing, and narrative and solution-focused therapies, this workshop highlights a five-step practice framework to help families envision desired lives, address long-standing problems, and develop proactive coping strategies in the context of their local communities.

Continuing Education (CE) Information
