Tools for Therapists: Marketing to Find the Right Clients

Still-life of tree branches, studio shot.GoodTherapy.org is excited to announce Find the Right Clients: Creating a Successful GoodTherapy.org Profile, an upcoming marketing event for therapists who are interested in growing their practice, generating referrals, and making an inviting profile on the GoodTherapy.org directory! This live streaming web conference will take place Monday, June 23, at 9 a.m. Pacific. All therapist members can access this event at no additional cost to membership.

This marketing event will feature Noah Rubinstein, LMFT, Founder and CEO of GoodTherapy.org, and Dan Fajans, Director of Member Services. Noah and Dan will delve into techniques for optimizing your profile in search engines, avoiding marketing pitfalls you may encounter, and making your GoodTherapy.org listing stand out from a profile on another therapist directory.

Above all, Dan and Noah will touch on the importance and benefit of creating a profile that enables a potential client to connect with you, so that you can immediately communicate the qualities people look for in a therapist—like insight, helpfulness, and cooperation.

While we work to build a community of psychotherapists and mental health professionals who are dedicated to providing ethical therapy, we also recognize that a therapy practice is a business, and marketing is an integral part of sustaining it. Furthermore, marketing your practice in a clear, effective manner helps break down barriers between people interested in therapy and the services they seek, as well as make it easier for them to find the clinician who best fits their treatment needs.

We’re dedicated to bringing referrals to our members, and we are confident that a few simple changes can make all the difference in your marketing strategies! Regardless of your level of experience with online marketing or search engine optimization, this marketing event will provide you with new strategies and things to think about when working on your online presence.

If you miss the event or would like to access it afterward, you can access it in our Marketing for Therapists web conference archive.

I will be honest in that I have not given much thought to the fact that like any other business medical professionals have to seek out paying customers too! You don’t want to just have to take anyone that comes in off of the street, even though you want to help people otherwise you would not have chosen the career path that you did. At the same time though I am sure that there is a certain type of person or demographic that you would prefer to work with and I suppose you too need the tools to reach these prospective clients and patients. I would think that first and foremost in this kind of business word of mouth and referrals from other professionals would be the key to building and maintaining a solid practice.
