Perhaps you are at a turning point in your life where you know in your deepest intuition that there is an imbalance in life and in your wellness. When you feel like your direction is unclear, when you question who you are and how you show up in the world, when you question your choices and thoughts, and when you know that there is a deeper sense of peace that feels far away, healing is needed. Entering into a healing space with a therapist can be the startcontinuation to uncovering obstacles keeping you from living your most authentic life as your best self. I bring to our therapy space a true understanding of how challenging life can be when grappling with anxiety, depression, unhelpful thought forms and dysfunctional patterns, all of which inevitably impact every aspect of life. I know how lost one can become while trying to heal from the pains of family of origin, trauma(s), oppression (internal and external), and from our own unhelpful narrativesstories (accurate or not). This is where healing with the help of a non judgemental witness, who illuminates areas to grow and deepen, is vital. We heal in relationship with others and I will dedicate my compassion, empathy and wisdom to journeying alongside you in your healing process.
I am currently accepting new clients. Please contact me for a free 20 minute consultation. I work together with you to help you feel happier, healthier, and more balanced in your life, work and relationships. Every one of us brings a unique set of concerns and strengths to life; a counseling approach that works for one person may not work for the next person. That's why my approach is eclectic; so we can find the best therapy for you. Some guiding ideas in my work are to facilitate change by focusing on the here and now, using awareness and acceptance and building on the strengths that you already have. If you're in therapy you most likely want to change something about your life. Change comes naturally when there's space in your life. And that's what we do in therapy - we learn how to create spaciousness so that there's room to maneuver and skillfully address the issues in our life.
If you’ve ever felt like too much, or not enough, because of where you come from, what you carry, or how the world sees you, you’re not alone. Maybe you’re navigating the invisible weight of generational trauma. Maybe chronic illness has shaped your days in ways others don’t understand. Maybe you move through life holding pieces of multiple cultures, never quite feeling like you belong in any of them. Or maybe you’ve just gotten really good at performing—at showing up, holding it all together, and never being fully seen. If any of that sounds like you, I want you to know: therapy can be a place where you don’t have to explain everything to be understood. I’m Savannah Delgado, but most people call me Sav. I became a therapist by first becoming a question-asker. From a young age, I found myself wondering, “Why do people do what they do?”—especially when those choices caused pain. I didn’t want to repeat the patterns I saw. I wanted to understand them, interrupt them, and heal them. That desire led me into the healing professions—and now, to clients like you, who are ready to break cycles without breaking themselves. I work especially well with: Individuals and families carrying intergenerational trauma, cultural complexity, or family system wounds Clients navigating grief, chronic illness, emotional overwhelm, or identity invisibility Queer folks reclaiming safety, expression, and truth within oppressive or rigid systems People healing from codependency, perfectionism, or being “the strong one” I bring lived experience from my intersections: being raised between Hispanic, Native, and colonized cultures; navigating chronic illness; and learning how to hold grief and joy at the same time. I get what it feels like to not fit into neat boxes. I know how deeply it matters to be met by someone who just gets it. My approach blends warmth, attunement, and honesty. I draw from family systems therapy, somatic tools, client-centered work, and solution-focused practices. I often use metaphor, body-based regulation, and deep listening to help you explore what lives beneath the surface. In our work together, I’ll support you in rebuilding what you didn’t break, but now have the power to heal. As one of my clients once said, “Being queer... the world sucks. Other queer people? They just get that.” I want you to feel that kind of resonance in our sessions. I’ll put my hands underneath your hands to help you hold what feels heavy.
Now more than ever, in the COVID-19 crisis, therapy can help you to cope with heightened anxiety, depression, loneliness, and lack of purpose. With online video conferencing, I can provide regular therapy without you coming into the office. Therapy provides a safe place to ask the questions that scare us, to find connection and healing, to feel good and be authentic, and take charge of our lives. I support clients' efforts to gain insight into the sources of their challenges and pain, find connection, make positive changes in relationships, identify strengths and resources, cope with personal history, and take charge of their life. I help children, teens, and adults cope with stress, express themselves honestly, and explore personal meaning and purpose. I have experience working with children as a school counselor and in the child welfare system, and working with children, teens, and adults in private practice. I use relational psychodynamic methods, with insights from CBT and other modalities. My approach as a therapist is to provide warm and attentive listening, unconditional positive regard, gentle honesty and encouragement, as I join with you in the project of telling and understanding your story, and feeling your best. I am an MDiv and am open to your religious experience. I am also available for teletherapy from the privacy of your own home.

I am honored to provide psychotherapy for individuals and groups regarding life issues: work, aging, health, finances, and relationships. I work with people living with ongoing loss, such as medical diagnosis, micro and macro aggressions, forced estrangement, or caregiving for a family member. Coping skills are formed early to survive the family-of-origin, which is a microcosm of the culture. As we age, these skills may become less adaptive, causing pain. Living authentically involves changing ways of coping with life-enhancing skills and building resilience through healing attachment issues and trauma. This is especially important for those in recovery from narcissistic trauma, which is one of my specialties.
A relationship in which one partner is autistic and the other is neurotypical can be lonely for both partners. You can feel isolated and hurt, which often leads to a fear that nothing can ever change for the better. As a specialist in working online with neurodiverse couples, I offer you a unique understanding of the dilemmas and challenges encountered by each of you. You can learn to identify the differences between you and understand the effects of these differences. Our work together includes creating strategies for effective communication in a blame-free environment where you can begin to show compassion not only to your partner but to yourself. If you have children, we can include parenting concerns. Often, a parent begins to see autism in himselfherself only after one of the children has been diagnosed. Family considerations are key to our work together. Sometimes, couples are confused about their relationship goals: one partner wants to leave and the other wants to stay. Individually, we will look at each partner's hopes, dreams, and needs, and then come together to see what is possible. Our work includes a frank assessment of the difficulties and the rewards involved in this unique relationship. I will support you with education and skills development along the way. If you choose to work with me, we will focus on your specific concerns and issues as they arise. I will offer you supportive education and strategies as we look at your lives together. My role is slightly different than you may be accustomed to if you have worked with a therapist previously because of the additional emphasis on clinical education. My goal is to be certain you understand the neurodiverse relationship in terms of what can change and what cannot change so that you move in directions that are productive, while offering you suggestions for communication skills and strategies. I help partners understand their own way of being in the world and their partner's, as well as how to create news ways of communicating that can lead to a stronger relationship and increased intimacy. Please contact me by email. I am not able to return phone calls.
I consider therapy to be an alliance in which you and I work together to relieve unbearable aloneness, discover your strengths, encourage your innate strivings toward health and build new confidence in feeling and being in relationship. Every person has a need to be known and heard in an authentic, non-judgmental way. Every person has wisdom about themselves and what is needed to heal their lives. And fundamental to this, every person has the natural capacity for healing, for love and self esteem. In our work I may use a variety of tools and techniques to help move the therapy process but I recognize that change comes from the freedom to be and find oneself in the company of a trusted Other. There have been many influences on my thinking about therapy, most prominently my own life journey of healing transformation. Along the way Existentialist thought, Buddhist practicality, Relational, Experiential & Humanistic therapies have all made their marks. Participating in Nature?s cycles of change and renewal through gardening has profoundly influenced me. My experience as a parent, as a partner, as an artist has illuminated for me the endless horizons of human possibility. I will always talk with you about exercises or techniques I think might be helpful and, because our work is a collaboration, your agreement, choice, input and feedback is a necessary part of the dialogue of working together. Finding a therapist can be an intimidating process. If you would like an in-person meeting to decide whether I might be a good fit for you, I am happy to offer a 30 minute meeting at no charge. When you call make sure to specify if you are requesting this.
