I am willing to guide you through the storm and assist you with finding some peace of mind. I am a Psychotherapist specializing in transition issues, anxiety, depression, and relationship conflict, as well as codependents involved in a narcissistic relationship. My philosophy is to meet my clients where they are using an eclectic approach and to help them understand their behavior patterns, gain insight into their past and current challenges and help them feel empowered in their daily life. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am continually inspired by the transformative moment that happens in the counseling process. There is a sacredness in being present to another as a guide on this journey we call life. Whether it is exploring inner resources for healing and growth or the possibilities for deep and lasting change, it is an honor to work with people that are desiring a better way to be themselves in the world. My own journey has taught me that being truly present and engaged allows space for the unknown to be revealed, acknowledged, and eventually integrated into the service of the whole self. I weave together various mind-body modalities to create opportunities for you to step into the experience of your own sense of well-being, wisdom, and inner trust. In providing an affirming space for all clients, I also have expertise in working with LGBTQ+ persons, those in recovery, spiritual and religious questioners, and writers, artists, and musicians. Mary Oliver wrote in the poem “Wild Geese”: “Meanwhile, the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting — over and over announcing your place in the family of things.” If you are looking for a place to come home to yourself, I invite you to email or call to schedule an initial appointment. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions.
I am a doctoral level, licensed clinical psychologist. My clinical practice, located in Norfolk, Virginia. My expertise is in the areas of psychological evaluations and therapeutic techniques. For psychological evaluations, I utilize various testing measures to assess the specific mental health area(s) required for individual clients. This can include assessment for IQ, psychoticism, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, personality, memory, achievement, adaptive functioning, etc. All testing is followed by a professional, diagnostic report. For therapy, I conduct individual therapy only. I see adults of any age and children over the age of ten. However, when a child is the client, parents will be included in occasional sessions to ensure that the therapeutic practices are generalized to the home environment. My therapeutic specialties include all mood disorders, at-risk youth and psychoticism. I am a Christian and welcome the opportunity to discuss spiritual matters with my clients. However, this is based only on the comfort level of the client.
I communicate with empathy and clarity, focusing on understanding your unique needs. My approach is collaborative - we'll work together to identify solutions and strategies that resonate with you. Expect an open, judgment-free dialogue as we navigate the path toward your wellness goals.
