I know what it’s like to grow up in a family, school, community, and society and not fit in. We all are born lovable and acceptable regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, religion, or type of body we exist in. When we are not allowed to be ourselves, bullied for it, hated for it, and shamed we internalize it and struggle to love ourselves. If you are tired of bending over backward to please others and fit in I am here to help you show your true colors and learn to love yourself just the way you are. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space to share your feelings and will give you the tools you need to cope with our world. I see people both virtually and in person.
I am a clinical psychologist who works to help clients overcome adversity, cope with emotional difficulties, and achieve important life goals. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, flexible, and informed by evidence-based practices. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults and adolescents to address a range of issues, including trauma- and stress-related difficulties, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I received my doctorate from Harvard University and completed my internship and fellowship through VA Boston and the National Center for PTSD, with appointments at BU School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. My experience has included extensive work using CBT, DBT, trauma-focused interventions, mindfulness, and exposure-based treatments, in addition to psychodynamic approaches. I would be happy to speak with you about ways we may be able to work together to meet your needs. You are welcome to call or email to set up an initial consultation.

Has your relationship become an angry, sad, or scary place leaving you feeling alone, hurt, and discouraged? Are you and your partner feeling lost in conflict cycles you don’t understand and desperately want to change? Many of the couples I work with come to therapy feeling just like you. I understand how much courage it takes to reach out for help and to let another person get inside your relationship, especially when you are feeling so vulnerable. If you are searching for a safe place to explore what's not working in your relationship, and support in creating solutions, I can help.
I believe healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and deeply respected — not rushed, judged, or "fixed." In our work together, I focus on creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are, with all the complexity, courage, and vulnerability that takes. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I honor the wisdom you already carry, while offering tools, support, and perspective to help you move toward the life and relationships you want. Whether we are navigating trauma, relationship struggles, identity exploration, or just the hard, messy work of being human, I will walk alongside you, not ahead of you or above you. I draw from a blend of evidence-based practices (solution-focused therapy, DBT, EMDR, IFS) and systemic, relational perspectives. At the core, my work is about helping you reconnect to your own power, self-trust, and capacity for change. Healing isn’t linear, and you don’t have to do it alone. My job is to offer you care that is radical, real, and rooted in your truth.
I'm a somatic therapist who works with clients to heal trauma and manage depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. In session, I help you connect with your body and use techniques that restore your relationship with yourself. Whether it's supporting clients with chronic illness and autoimmune disorders, or recovering from childhood and religious trauma, somatic methods help you repair physically, mentally, and spiritually. Together we process pain through breathing, movement, curiosity, and expression to find a new purpose. I can help you find liberation in your change, identity, and growth journey. My therapeutic practice is rooted in liberation, decolonization, and anti-racism. I have supported people across the lifespan for over a decade. I'm trained in many treatment methods of trauma including TF-CBT and somatic therapy, and I teach graduate-level trauma courses. I am licensed in DC, MD, and VA, and I offer a free 15-minute consult call. I am a therapist who will sit with you in your pain and hold space with compassion. I will also be direct with you in times when you don’t get that elsewhere. Whatever we're tackling in session, I'm invested in you and will remind you that you have what it takes to heal. I'll be there to help you find it, use it, and discover the freedom in that healing.
Are you experiencing unwanted feelings, undesirable behaviors or habits? Would you like to gain control over depression, anxiety, mood changes, frustration, or anger? Or do you have a desire to learn how to establish or repair relationships? My desire is to effectively help you learn how to address these things. I have worked with individuals who experienced dysfunction in their marriage and relationships, and within the family. My work with you will focus on helping you discover effective coping skills that will permit you to achieve the peace, strength, and comfort that you desire in your life. I believe that as I support you through gaining awareness of external influences, examination of past behaviors and thought processes, and the development or enhancement of coping skills, you will achieve the changes you desire. I have worked therapeutically with couples and individuals, ranging from teens to seniors, and from various walks in life. Unwelcome experiences that occur in life tend to yield unattractive results. Therefore, through exploration of self-perceptions, level of self-care, and your decision-making process, the changes that you desire may be pursued. I have worked with individuals who have had dysfunction in their relationships or issues with self-esteem, confidence, or self-worth to achieve the desired well-being. In addition to psychotherapy, I also provide psychoeducational workshops and seminars to couples and single.
