My philosophy to treatment is to deeply understand you and the internal conflicts involved, so as to guide you in a helpful clinical therapeutic regimen. My goal is to give you effective and successful therapy, where the results are significant and life lasting. I believe that peoples' problems are rooted in their childhood, old emotional wounds, and their unconscious. I ask patients to verbalize their thoughts, feelings, memories, and dreams so that together we can increase your conscious awareness, diminish immature and resistant defenses, and resolve internal emotional conflicts. As a result there will be an increase in self-esteem, better interpersonal relationships, and become more self-activating in the way you prefer to be. In essence, I should be helping you to have more conscious say so over yourself and less unconscious turmoil and acting-out. I also do couples' therapy. I am a licensed Marital and Family Therapist. I help couples resolve interpersonal problems and improve their communications, so as to increase their ability to mature and connect with each other. I help the couple to look at themselves, see how their family of origin is contributing to their current problems, see how they are miscommunicating, and develop a healthier way of communicating with one another, without distortion. I offer consultations, clinical evaluations and provide mental health reports. I work with with children, teens and families as well. I also offer pre-marital counseling and parental counseling. I am also a Qualified Supervisor for registered interns seeking state licensure.
