My Approach to Therapy

I specialize in treating clients struggling with eating disorders, body image issues, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), body-focused repetitive behaviors, and anxiety, and work with couples and families as well individuals. I believe that full recovery from these problems is possible, no matter how stuck we may feel. I am an active, conversational therapist and I partner with my clients to work through even the toughest circumstances to find freedom and connect them with their vision for their life. I believe in the power of connection and believe that healing and recovery are possible when we feel understood and cared for. It’s important to me that my clients feel respected and that they are treated as the experts of their lives. Even if you’re struggling to hold hope for your ability to make difficult changes, I believe that transformation is possible and will help you take steps towards the life you desire.

I believe that speaking our experience and practicing vulnerability is an absolutely courageous act. This is the antithesis to weakness. Allowing ourselves to be seen and understood is brave and is the first step toward change and freedom.

Connection is actually the most important predictor for the effectiveness of therapy. It is essential that you connect with your therapist and can work on developing a trusting relationship so that you can be vulnerable and talk about even the most complicated issues.
