Relief First and foremost, therapy offers relief. You may feel like you are struggling and carrying the burden of your struggle all on your own, but you don't have to suffer alone. Therapy provides a relationship where pain and distress can be contained and held. The therapeutic relationship is different from other relationships in that it is primarily focused on your healing. Most people find that sharing their experience with a therapist who feels safe, understanding and non-judgmental, offers a great deal of relief in and of itself. Insight As therapy continues, it becomes a space not only for containment, but also for healing and exploration. This process provides an opportunity to more deeply know and understand yourself. Bringing an attitude of curiosity to your experiences, both past and present, allows us to discover insights into why you may feel a certain way, or why you may continually find yourself in familiar patterns. Growth Through the process of gaining more understanding and insight about your past and present, self-compassion grows and you begin to feel more connected to yourself. As you regain a fuller sense of yourself, relationships improve and life grows richer with meaning and purpose. The insights you gain through therapy will allow you to take better care of yourself and to feel as though you can make decisions that are more aligned with your true desires.
