My Approach to Therapy

As a multicultural ADHD person myself, I strive to provide the type of support I like to receive. This involves using laughter, an understanding of broader systemic and cultural impacts, and addressing that mean voice in your head. Many neurodiverse people are stuck with a voice that repeats criticisms we have heard for many years. Hearing “What’s wrong with you? Why can’t you just do this thing that is simple for normal people?” takes a toll on your concept of self and cause you to feel stuck or even unable to dream. Together, we can build your self-acceptance, self-trust and self-confidence. You are not broken, you just exist in a world that was not made for you. Just like a left handed person needs left-handed scissors - you just need the correct tools.

My Practice & Services

I am EMDR Certified through EMDRIA. I specialize in working with neurodiverse people (ADHD, ASD, AuADHD, dyslexia, OCD, etc). I am certified in EMDR by EMDRIA. This therapy is often used to process traumas - big and small, recent and past (PTSD). EMDR focuses on changing the negative core beliefs that are carried as a result of a traumatic experience.
