My Approach to Therapy

You might be here because you’re tired. Tired of carrying old wounds that still ache, tired of questioning your worth, tired of feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change. Maybe you’re adjusting to a new season of life: becoming a parent, rebuilding after loss, navigating illness, or trying to feel at home in who you are. Even if you’ve learned to hide your pain behind a polished exterior, part of you still hopes life can feel lighter, more connected, and more true to who you really are. I believe therapy can be a space where you can finally set that mask down. Where all parts of you: your fears, your hopes, your culture, your strengths, are welcome and respected. I don’t see you as broken. I see you as someone who has learned to survive in the best ways you could, and who is ready to heal and grow. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in deep respect for your lived experience. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing on you, whether it’s anxiety, trauma, self-esteem struggles, perinatal challenges, identity shifts, relationship dynamics, or chronic illness. I draw from trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approaches to help you reconnect with your own wisdom and capacity for change. In our work, you can expect compassion and curiosity rather than judgment. I’ll help you make sense of your story, find tools to cope, and rediscover the parts of you that may have been overshadowed by pain or overwhelm. You deserve a space where you feel seen, valued, and supported as you move toward the life you want.

My Practice & Services

At Glow Mental Health, I offer more than just one-on-one therapy. My practice is built around creating spaces where you can feel supported, understood, and empowered to grow. Along with individual and couples therapy, I provide specialized perinatal mental health care for people navigating pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, birth trauma, fertility struggles, and parenting with a history of trauma or ADHD. I also facilitate therapy groups and workshops focused on topics like self-compassion, anxiety management, and mindful parenting. These groups are a chance to connect with others who share similar experiences and to practice new skills in a supportive environment. My practice is fully virtual for individual and couples sessions across Ontario, and I also offer walk-and-talk therapy in select areas for clients who find healing in movement and nature. If you’re curious about whether my approach is a good fit, I welcome you to reach out. Together, we can explore the kind of care that feels right for you.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I'm especially skilled at helping people who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, self-criticism, and the impact of past trauma. I often support individuals and couples working through perinatal challenges, including pregnancy and postpartum anxiety, birth trauma, fertility struggles, and adjusting to new parenthood. My experience includes working at Women's College Hospital, where I provided care to individuals navigating perinatal mental health, trauma, and complex life transitions. I also help people explore identity, heal relationship patterns, manage chronic illness, and move through grief and loss. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a nurse with individuals and families facing cancer, hospice and palliative care, chronic pain, advanced illness, and profound grief and loss. This background has shaped my deep respect for each person's story and my ability to offer grounded, compassionate support when life feels most uncertain. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling stuck in cycles that no longer serve them, and together, we build more self-compassion, resilience, and a sense of connection to what matters most.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I believe psychotherapy is about creating a space where you don't have to pretend or perform, a space where you can be honest about your pain, your hopes, and the parts of yourself you're still trying to understand. To me, therapy isn't about fixing you, because you're not broken. It's about helping you make sense of your story, loosen the grip of old patterns, and discover more compassion for yourself. It's also about finding practical ways to cope and grow, so life feels more manageable and meaningful. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy, no matter what stage of life they're in or what they're facing. Whether you're navigating a crisis or simply longing for a deeper connection to yourself, therapy can be a powerful way to come home to who you are.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

As a mom of two, I've personally navigated the complex and often isolating experience of postpartum challenges. Living with a chronic condition has also taught me firsthand about resilience, patience, and the importance of compassionate self-care. As a South Asian therapist, I understand the layers of cultural expectations and stigma that can make seeking help feel even harder. These parts of my journey have deepened my empathy and strengthened my commitment to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can bring your whole self without fear or shame. Because I've walked similar paths, I can hold space with genuine compassion, patience, and cultural sensitivity. I believe in your strength and resilience, and I?m here to support you as you discover your own light and healing.
