I am able to create a safe space where clients have the opportunity to explore and know themselves more deeply. I have always had a natural capacity to understand people of different backgrounds from my own. This ability allows me to build a unique therapeutic relationship with each client. It is an honor to work with people as they explore their vulnerabilities and to witness their progress toward healing. I work well with people who are in mid-life transitions, new parents, and those who are dealing with issues around relationships, depression, and anxiety.
My approach is eclectic; different people respond well to different modalities and each person needs an individualized approach. I therefore tailor therapy to each client based upon his or her communication style and needs.
I also believe in a positive psychological approach. For example, alleviating depression alone does not mean that someone is happy. A better goal is to also focus on uncovering strengths, meaning, and increased fulfillment in a person's life. Please feel free to visit my website for more information.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Avoiding factors that cause suffering is not a good long-term approach for fulfillment or peace of mind. And yet, many people feel ambivalent when they first enter therapy (and some enter only because someone else told them to come in, for example, their spouse). After the first few visits, however, they frequently say, ?This isn?t so bad.? Often, not long after that, many say, ?I?m really glad I came in and I?m surprised at how much I like this.?
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Among the main questions to ask yourself when you are connecting with the therapist the first few times is this, ?Does this person seem to understand me?? The degree to which you are feeling understood will likely have an affect on how much you share and the general quality of the therapeutic relationship.
