The quality of your day and your life depends on knowing how to relate to your emotions, memories, reality and people that matter. It is rare to find people who come into adulthood knowing how to do this effectively. That is why anxiety, depression, compulsions, insecurity, chronic health issues and relationship problems are so rampant. You deserve someone who will help you get to know yourself deeply, thoroughly and with compassion. You need to discover and heal the ordeals you have been through. It’s important to identify your unmet needs and healthy ways to fill them. It’s time to learn life skills you were never taught. It will make all the difference in the world. I have been a psychotherapist since 1990 and feel blessed to have found this profession. What I believe makes me a trustworthy, effective, and empathetic guide is the fact that I personally know the courage, honesty, and perseverance it takes to do this inner work. Exploring vulnerable emotions, traumas, relationship dysfunction, insecurities, and blind spots is a hero’s journey. I bring to each session the peace, wisdom, authenticity, and compassion I have gleaned from facing my own emotion-laden life challenges. I don’t just talk the talk, I walk the walk. I’m not above you, I’m with you. Not all therapists are comfortable with their own and their clients’ vulnerable emotions. The client is then deprived of a more meaningful and empathic connection. When therapists do not focus on developing their client’s ability to safely explore their emotional life, past and present, therapists are merely skimming the surface. They leave intact the foundation of their clients’ struggles. You can be sure that I will focus on the roots of your difficulties so you can achieve the peace, self-worth and security you deserve. I share with my clients what I have harvested from decades of professional training and experience. I will introduce you to experiential forms of therapy that go deeper than mere talk therapy. These interventions are not band-aids; they produce deep healing and competency in handling life’s challenges. After years of extensive training, I became certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trauma treatment in 2006 and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples in 2013. Keep in mind, not all therapists who say they offer EMDR have achieved certification or have developed expertise by using it on a regular basis. I have experience helping clients living with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex PTSD, compulsive behaviors, chronic health problems, insecure relationships, narcissistic abuse, betrayal and abandonment, grief, and disturbing emotions that persist and seem to serve no purpose. Therapy with me includes: 1. A nurturing and secure relationship, something many people have not experienced. 2. EMDR, my clients have healed thousands of traumatic memories. 3. Skills-building: such as mindfulness and how to manage emotions effectively, 4. Inner child work to soothe insecurity 5. Discussions on many topics such as emotions, trauma, the nervous system, attachment relationships, toxic relationships, and how trauma affects the body. I invite and encourage you to call me. Allow me to help you feel good in your own skin, mind, and heart and become wiser and more effective in your relationships.

As a clinical psychologist offering evening telehealth therapy sessions, my approach to helping individuals and couples facing marital problems, sexual addiction issues, or individual mental health challenges is grounded in evidence-based practices and a deep understanding of each client’s unique experiences. I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) while integrating insights into family of origin issues to foster healing, growth, and lasting change. Core Principles of My Approach 1. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a Foundation CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps clients identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. For those struggling with marital problems, I guide couples to recognize distorted thinking—such as all-or-nothing assumptions about their partner—and replace these with balanced perspectives to improve communication and emotional connection. For individuals with sexual addiction, CBT helps address triggers, restructure compulsive thought patterns, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Similarly, for those facing mental health challenges like anxiety or depression, CBT empowers clients to challenge negative self-beliefs and build resilience through practical strategies. 2. Exploring Family of Origin Issues Many struggles in relationships or personal mental health stem from patterns learned in childhood. By exploring family of origin dynamics, I help clients uncover how early experiences with caregivers or significant life events shape their current behaviors and relationships. For example, a client with marital issues may discover that unresolved attachment patterns from their family influence their interactions with their spouse. For those with sexual addiction, understanding family dynamics can reveal underlying emotional needs or traumas driving compulsive behaviors. This insight allows us to address root causes, not just symptoms, fostering deeper self-awareness and healing. 3. Tailored, Compassionate Telehealth Sessions Offering evening telehealth sessions ensures accessibility for clients with busy schedules or those who prefer the comfort of their own space. My approach is collaborative and empathetic, creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and understood. Whether working with couples to rebuild trust, guiding individuals through addiction recovery, or supporting mental health challenges, I tailor interventions to each client’s needs, drawing on CBT techniques and family of origin exploration to promote meaningful progress. 4. Holistic and Practical Focus My goal is to empower clients with practical tools they can apply outside of sessions. For couples, this might include communication exercises or conflict-resolution strategies. For those with sexual addiction, I provide relapse prevention plans and mindfulness techniques. For individual mental health struggles, I teach coping skills like cognitive restructuring or relaxation techniques. By addressing both present challenges and historical influences, I help clients build a stronger foundation for long-term well-being. Why This Approach Works: By combining CBT’s evidence-based structure with an exploration of family of origin issues, I address both the immediate symptoms and the deeper roots of clients’ struggles. Evening telehealth sessions make therapy accessible and convenient, ensuring clients can prioritize their mental health and relationships. My approach is not about quick fixes, but about equipping clients with the insight, skills, and resilience to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and clarity.
My passion for helping others heal is rooted in empathy, compassion, and a thorough understanding of the complexity of trauma. I specialize in working with individuals and couples who have experienced the profound impact of complex PTSD, also known as developmental or relational trauma, on their emotional and psychological well-being and relationships. The effects of cPTSD can leave you feeling unsafe, disconnected, powerless, ashamed, defective, and overwhelmed. You may also find yourself engaging in self-abandoning behavior, experiencing emotional flashbacks, or struggling to overcome your harsh inner critic, toxic shame, and guilt. As your therapist, I strive to create a safe and supportive space for you to heal and grow. My approach is tailored to your unique needs, integrating evidence-based techniques such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Somatic Experiencing (SE) to help you break free from the cycle of trauma and build the skills you need to thrive. Whether you are seeking individual or couples therapy, my ultimate goal is to empower you to reclaim your life, heal from the past, and create a fulfilling future where you can experience meaningful connections with yourself and others. Whether you're struggling to navigate the challenges of a relationship as a complex trauma survivor, or working to heal on your own, I'm here to support you every step of the way. I believe that healing from complex trauma is possible, no matter what you've been through. Together, we'll work to break free from the cycle of pain and create a fulfilling, meaningful life full of connection, joy, and authenticity.
