My approach in therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal oriented.
My work is characterized by compassion, optimism and collaboration. I like to focus on strengths rather than weaknesses, and solutions rather than problems. I believe that with the appropriate support and tools, we are all capable of achieving our goals and dreams, including healthier, happier relationships.
My approach to working with people is based on listening carefully. Together we will create a space where we can explore past and present relationships and come to understand the many levels of your experience. The goal is to feel more in control and generally to feel more whole and enlivened. Over my 30 year career I have worked with all kinds of individuals and couples covering a broad range of emotional issues and life circumstances. I look forward to meeting you in a consultation to see if we are a good match to work together.
Results focused therapy. I specialize in treating PTSD and Complex Trauma, anxiety disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, suicidal tendencies, grieving survivors of suicide, sleep problems, chronic pain, drug andor alcohol problems, and depression. I am committed to working with you to successfully resolve your problem using a wide range of rich therapeutic approaches. Well-known for my active and resourceful approach, I consider your time valuable, and avoid dwelling on nonessentials and aimless talking, focusing instead on developing actions and solutions drawing from a wide-variety of therapies, you can apply immediately. I am knowledgeable in (and teach) psychopharmacology and welcome the opportunities to work in collaboration with the prescribing doctor, especially when side-effects, "residual symptoms," or adherence are of concern. Significant others may be involved in the therapeutic process when appropriate.
I have experience and a passion for working with clients through a faith-based lens, including Christian counseling, healing from spiritual trauma, or deconstruction. I also enjoy working with clients living with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, body image, self-esteem struggles, relationship or workplace difficulties, and those walking through grief. Life can feel overwhelming sometimes. Whether you're struggling with anxiety that won't quiet, depression that feels heavy, obsessive thoughts that won't let go, or trauma that still hurts, please know that you don't have to navigate these challenges alone. I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth. With over 10 years of experience supporting people through their most difficult moments, I've had the privilege of witnessing incredible resilience and transformation. My background spans case management, inpatient psychiatric care, substance use recovery, and family services, giving me a deep appreciation for how life's circumstances—cultural, social, and emotional—can create barriers to the change we long for. This experience has taught me that healing happens best when we honor the whole person, not just the symptoms.
Empowerment, empathy, compassion, and trust are the pillars upon which I build a safe healing space for clients to overcome obstacles. Along with a secure therapeutic relationship, I use interventions proven effective such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I have completed Level 1 & Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. When working with couples, I channel these skills towards building a platform to increase relationship intimacy through healthy communication, conflict resolution, building love maps, and making life dreams come true. For several years I have worked with individuals, couples, groups, and families from diverse backgrounds, propelling all towards their full potential. Ethically, I use only evidence-based practices supported by groundbreaking research, which provide clients with interventions demonstrated to work best for their unique struggles. I look forward to providing an engaging, educational, and life-altering experience in all sessions, increasing mental strength and providing a smoother ride ahead in life.
People are unique and have varied life experiences that often are the templates for future interactions with others. Using a variety of interventions, specific to the individual, couple, or family, a collaborative interaction helps one to reach goals. Trained in many theoretical orientations I use what works best for the unique individual. From the difficult to treat child and adolescent, to the adult facing divorce, occupational crisis, or life re-evaluation, our work together is goal oriented.
You deserve a life of happiness and health. Together we can understand your life, then craft a plan that addresses the source of your stress. Are you overwhelmed, or unsure how to achieve your goals? Therapy is a powerful tool that can resolve the difficulties you face. It strengthens coping skills and self-esteem.
Talking about sex and problematic sexual behaviors is often stigmatized by society, family or culture. My main goal is provide a safe place where one can openly discuss sexual concerns and we can work together to determine if they are problematic or to discuss the impact of another's sexual behaviors on you. Too often, it is assumed that therapy around sexual addiction or sexuality is about stopping one's sexual behavior. Here, we work to define your sexuality as an individual. Work may include trauma focused work in order to gain access to underlying concerns, or it may involve sex education to best claim your sexuality. Working with loved ones of sex addicts, including parents, often includes shame reduction and healthy boundary work. Whatever the work is, you are part of the treatment team and the most important part of guiding therapy.
Are you feeling stressed, anxious, depressed? So many of us are these days. Thank you for reaching out to me. My practice specializes in treating depression, anxiety, OCD, child therapy and relationship issues, as well as adolescent challenges. Our approach to therapy is ECLECTIC, combining CBT, mindfulness, person-centered, and psychoanalytic work. Relaxation techniques & exploration of inner complexes help our clients better understand themselves and their struggles.

Living in Allentown offers the charm of Pennsylvania's third-largest city, with its rich history and vibrant downtown district. However, navigating life's challenges—from work stress to relationship difficulties—can feel overwhelming, especially during the humid summer months or long winter seasons that characterize the Northeast.
Whether you're dealing with anxiety from a demanding career, depression that worsens during Pennsylvania's gray winter months, or relationship challenges, seeking professional support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Since 2007, GoodTherapy has been dedicated to connecting people with ethical, compassionate therapists who understand that all people are capable of change and deserve dignity and respect. Our mission is to break down barriers, build bridges, and transform lives through accessible mental healthcare.
Allentown residents often seek therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, work-life balance issues, and trauma recovery. The city's diverse population, from young professionals working in the growing downtown business district to families in suburban neighborhoods, faces unique stressors that benefit from professional support.
The Northeast region's distinct seasons can impact mental health, with some residents experiencing seasonal affective disorder during long winters or increased stress during humid summers. Local therapists understand these regional factors and how they intersect with daily life pressures like commuting, economic changes, and maintaining work-life balance in Pennsylvania's evolving economy.
Allentown therapists utilize several proven approaches to help clients achieve their mental health goals. Different therapeutic methods offer unique benefits depending on your specific needs and preferences.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps identify and change negative thought patterns, making it particularly effective for anxiety and depression common among busy professionals. Solution-Focused therapy emphasizes building on existing strengths to create positive change quickly.
Psychodynamic therapy explores unconscious patterns and past experiences that influence current relationships and behaviors. Interpersonal therapy focuses on improving communication and relationship skills, while Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches emotional regulation and distress tolerance techniques.
Many Allentown therapists offer specialized services including couples counseling, family therapy, trauma treatment, and addiction recovery support. Some provide bilingual services to serve the area's diverse communities, while others specialize in working with specific populations like college students, veterans, or LGBTQ+ individuals.
