My approach in therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal oriented.
I love working with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds. I have a warm and direct approach, and I work with couples to communicate and hear each other in a safe and productive way. I use IMAGO therapy/Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT), which most couples find very positive and quickly gives hope. With my individual clients, we work to understand your needs and desires and ways to help you find your inner strengths to achieve them. I also bring in some coaching tools when helpful. I respect and highly value the client-therapist relationship.
I'm an individual and couples therapist specializing in issues such as communication barriers, work-life balance, stress and anxiety, intimacy, infidelity, breakups divorce, blended families, and increasing relationship satisfaction. I implement individualized techniques to address issues that are faced in today's relationships with self and others. With all the movement and overstimulation happening around us, it can be difficult to hear our own thoughts, let alone others. We often keep moving at full speed, not realizing how many feelings and emotions we are suppressing and avoiding. Therapy can be intimidating; you're not sure how you got here, but you're ready to shed the negative and repetitive behaviors that are not serving you. I am passionate about helping you understand the root cause of your patterns and learning how you got to where you are today, but most importantly, changing your path to reach your future goals and where you ultimately want to be. I'll help you develop skills to communicate, build confidence, and feel understood in a safe space for open conversations through exploration and collaboration with a direct, nonjudgmental approach. Together, we will create a long-term lifestyle change that you will be able to maintain and feel fulfilled with.
Sometimes life can be very stressful due to a variety of barriers. Anxiety, depression, or stress can interrupt our lives and lead to despair. Sometimes we have the feeling that we are alone in this despair and that nothing can help us improve. Negative thinking and difficult emotions can lead to poor self-esteem and isolation from those we love, as well as difficulties attending to responsibilities or striving towards our goals in life. I believe all humans have the capacity to change and achieve our goals to transform into the best version of ourselves, and therapy can be the first step to achieving these goals. I am a licensed mental health counselor with a specialization in treating anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsion (OCD), trauma, substance abuse, interpersonal issues, men's issues, and child-adolescent issues. I have completed cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) training to help clients with negative thinking, achieve behavior change, and improve emotion-regulation skills. Life can appear stressful and scary at times, but it does not have to overwhelm you any longer. Taking the first step to begin therapy can be the path to recovery and gaining control of your life once again. I provide a warm and inviting environment for clients to feel listened to, understood, and respected. You are in control of your future, which starts now.
I believe the goal and reward of therapy is to be free of excessive emotional pain and distress, to better manage life's stressors, to feel greater peace, and to realize a more fulfilling and satisfying life. I see therapy as the process to help you clear the way to achieve your goals or dreams, and to enjoy more satisfying and meaningful relationships both with yourself and with others. My clients have described me as a warm and compassionate therapist, and I see our work as a collaborative journey towards self discovery and healing. My style is supportive, relational, insight-oriented, solution focused, and always respectful of your individual process. I use a variety of approaches and techniques tailored to your individual needs.

I make sure to implement a positive and holistic approach to therapy. A healthy mind is the best predictor of a happy life! I am passionate about helping people find happiness and develop the capacity to treat themselves with kindness, connect with others, and find purpose in their life. I have an active style and have developed a "healthy mind approach" to helping. This means we focus on feeling resilient, stable, strong, balanced, and happier rather than on mental illness. In this process, we will determine what gives you a sense of well-being and happiness. I will then support and teach strategies for strengthening positive feelings and mind-states. This may be in the form of mindfulness practices, brain-based tools, strategies for connecting with others or finding a greater purpose. For grieving people, I help address the most difficult symptoms while processing the loss and returning to a sense of balance and hope. I am an experienced and mature therapist with work experience, training, and personal history that qualifies me for this important work.
I believe that life is full of opportunities—that every one of us is the expert of our own lives, and we know what’s best for us. I take a supportive, trauma-informed, judgment-free, and strength-based approach to our sessions, specifically aimed at helping you to reflect on the past, heal those experiences, and grow in a significant way.
I was trained in the 1980's in Transpersonal Psychology. It is a model that focuses on the interplay of Western Psychology and Eastern Religion and Philosophy. As a Transpersonal Therapist, I recognize that each person has the power to heal and transform their own life. My role as a therapist is to help facilitate this process. Sometimes our life experiences negatively impact the way we think and behave. By co-creating a safe environment where you will feel comfortable sharing your story, we will examine the thoughts and feelings you are struggling with and develop different more healthy ways of relating to them. As you become more skillful with relating to your feeling and thoughts, you will begin to make more healthy choices; thus creating the life you desire.
UPDATE 11-4-25: Accepting new clients! Please message me to set up a consultation. Living with chronic illness, loving someone who does, or navigating the aftermath of medical trauma can leave you feeling isolated, misunderstood, and disconnected from your body. I know this not just as a therapist—but as someone who has lived it. Born with a congenital heart condition, I’ve endured extensive testing, open-heart surgery, and the emotional toll that comes with it. I understand the fear of a body that feels unfamiliar, the exhaustion of self-advocacy, and the grief of adjusting to a life you didn’t plan for. Over the past decade, I’ve helped individuals from all walks of life rewrite old narratives, heal emotional wounds, and reclaim their worth. No matter what life has thrown at you, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where all parts of you are welcome. If you’re ready to walk your path with greater peace, I would be honored to walk beside you. It’s why I’m passionate about supporting others on similar paths—those living with chronic pain, health anxiety, autoimmune conditions, or the emotional impact of medical trauma and caregiving. You are not alone in this. Your story, your questions, and your healing deserve space and compassion. Together, we’ll gently process what you’ve carried, explore unresolved grief, and reconnect with your strength and inner wisdom. In a grounded, sacred space, we’ll nurture peace, clarity, and hope—even in the unknown. You deserve to be supported by someone who truly understands.
In the several years I've been in this profession, I'm extremely grateful that I've had the opportunity to work with many different populations. I graduated from UConn in 2018 with my master's in marriage and family therapy. After my master's, I worked for a non-profit in Willimantic, CT where I treated those with co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges. In 2019, I had a full-time job in Willimantic and went back to UConn for my PhD and also opened a private practice that same year. Throughout my PhD, my research has predominantly focused on sexuality and sexual health. Specifically, I research pornography consumption and how it impacts well-being. Currently, I own a private practice where I specialize in sex therapy. I also work with people who face relationship challenges (whatever that looks like for you) and anxiety that impacts happiness and overall well-being.
