I am an interactive, solution-focused, faith-based therapist, with over 19 years of experience. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to empower and help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I offer a warm, safe and supportive environment, with a personalized approach tailored to each of my client's needs.
I have 22 years experience working productively with people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and sexual orientations. Our job together is to identify dysfunctional patterns that contribute to—even perpetuate—your difficulties. The main focus of therapy is to remove inner and outer obstacles that prevent you from reaching your goals and having better relationships. My approach is supportive, empathetic and, above all, pragmatic. While understanding the past is essential, change can only occur in the present. I will challenge you to be an active partner in therapy and to work toward ongoing insight, growth, and positive change both in and outside of sessions. My experience ranges from psychotherapy with adults, teens, and couples to counseling trauma survivors with acute PTSD. Whether you seek to make a major change, overcome a life blow or obstacle, or to break a chronic pattern, I will meet you where you are at. Please note that after years of counseling and assessment in offices, I‘ve recently moved into a different space: video. Active listening in a safe, private setting is foundational to this work. I’ve learned that the catalytic elements of good therapy can thrive via video too.
I help high-functioning adults—especially perfectionists, entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals—quiet the noise, clarify their needs, and build a more sustainable way to live. Many of my clients feel like they’re doing everything “right” on paper, but still struggle with anxiety, burnout, relationship uncertainty, or self-doubt. You might be the one everyone relies on, but you feel unsure of your own direction. My style is collaborative, warm, and insight-oriented—I’m here to help you get honest with yourself without spiraling into self-criticism. Whether you're navigating a major life shift or finally giving yourself space to reflect, therapy can help you reconnect with your values, calm your nervous system, and make decisions you actually trust.
Hi, I'm Dr. Adam Weissman, Founder & Director of The Child & Family Institute and Weissman Children’s Foundation. I'm an avid traveler, adventurer, creator, collector, and the proud dad of two young boys. I specialize in the transdiagnostic assessment and treatment of pediatric anxiety, depression, habit, attention, and behavior disorders, including my new Compassionate Parent Training program, and Feelings Fuzzies book series for young children. Our team specializes in most things within the realm of evidence-based treatment--from OCD, habits, and tics, to phobias, trauma, panic, and selective mutism, to learning, attention, behavior problems, parenting, and family conflict, to health and sports psychology. I'm an authentic guy with a ton of lived experience, who loves to laugh and connect deeply, which I think are assets in the therapy room and create unique opportunities for trust-building, meaningful connection, and transformational change, well beyond your traditional cognitive and behavioral therapies, or eclectic, evidence-based approach. I'm available for private in-home sessions, texts and phone calls between sessions as clinically indicated, as well as other special circumstances given the wishes of the client and careful ethical considerations. I also run a doctoral training program through CFI, training the next generation of culturally informed and connected, compassionate, data-driven future psychologists. And my private concierge practice directly supports pro bono services for underserved children and families through the Weissman Children’s Foundation.
Holistic and humanistic empathic neuropsychotherapy
Through various experiences working with teens, adults, and seniors I was able to utilize integrative practice methods, including spirituality, CBT, and life experience to best help another individual redevelop hisher idea of life's journey.
I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I work with clients ranging from age 9 to individuals in their late 60s. My treatment approach is integrative and client-centered, incorporating mindfulness and empathy to create a supportive and personalized therapeutic experience tailored to each client's unique needs. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds, as varied experiences help me grow as a clinician. However, I particularly enjoy working with clients in their 30s and 40s facing past trauma, maladaptive habits, and relationship challenges. They seek therapy to reduce anxiety and depression, heal, and build healthier relationships. Many recognize these struggles have persisted too long and are ready for change. This age group often has more autonomy, allowing for deeper engagement. Seeing visible progress over time makes the healing journey both rewarding and transformative. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, using an integrative, client-centered approach to foster personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional healing. I help clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and relationship difficulties by providing a safe and supportive space where they feel heard and understood. Through mindfulness techniques, empathetic guidance, and personalized interventions, I empower individuals to develop coping skills, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and build resilience. My goal is to support clients in gaining insight into their emotions and behaviors while fostering meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
In a rapidly changing world, one can find it challenging to deal with feeling mad, afraid, sad or even glad! My aim is to help alleviate that pain. I use an integrative approach to understand your life experiences, feelings, and the reason for seeking counsel. I believe each person already has in them the potential to grow. A personal transformation through the process of psychotherapy can help facilitate this growth. Eventually, this will give you a greater understanding of yourself, others, and the world around you.
When you walk into therapy, I want you to feel safe, welcomed, and understood exactly as you are. My role is to be there with you: listening deeply, learning your story, and helping you feel less alone. You don’t have to have it all figured out; we’ll navigate it together, at your pace. I combine evidence-based tools like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with the depth and insight of interpersonal psychodynamic work. This means we’ll focus on helping you cope with what’s happening right now, and look at patterns, relationships, and experiences that shape how you see yourself and the world. Along the way, you’ll gain skills, emotional control, clarity, and new ways of dealing with life’s challenges. People often tell me I bring warmth, compassion, and a calming presence to our sessions, along with the kind of honesty and gentle encouragement that makes it easier to make changes. My hope is that you leave therapy feeling better in the moment, and also more confident, more connected, and more hopeful about your life.
I have specific expertise working with couples as well as individuals navigating difficult relationships. I particularly enjoy working with high-achieving professionals, over-thinkers, new moms and dads, and cycle-breakers. I am an active therapist, meaning that I will ask questions and point out patterns to help you get to the root of what really brought you into therapy. I am a warm but direct straight shooter who values transparency and I use humor, intuition, and spontaneity in my work. My aim is not to tell you what to do, but rather to help you listen to your own inner wisdom.
Growing up with learning challenges, I had an experience that is all too familiar for the neurodivergent community. Often feeling misunderstood and out of place, I was faced with indifference, ignorance, neglect, gaslighting, shame, and the assumption that I could navigate a world that was not built for me without the support I so badly needed. Lonely, adrift, and struggling to find a sense of belonging, I was cast aside and left to fend for myself. After a series of negative experiences with mental health resources and support, my personal journey led me to a couples therapist in 2014. There, I embarked on a journey of transformation, and I was able to see the profound impact that the right therapy relationship could have on a person. It was then that I was introduced to Gestalt psychotherapy, which I immediately connected with. From there, I set forth on a new journey to study Gestalt psychotherapy at the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy, a post-graduate training program. Pursuing this path, I have continued to experience connectedness, belonging, compassion, the wonder of curiosity, and love itself. Arriving at this place of acceptance and understanding changed everything for me. Understanding that this positive experience is not the norm for members of the neurodivergent community, I decided to dedicate myself to providing that same transformation for others. With this mission, I founded Welcome Home Healing in 2023. Since then, I have had the pleasure of helping many clients embrace their own innate worth, gifts, individuality, and the freedom to shed their masks of shame and self-doubt.
