Please note that I am currently only offering therapy via a HIPAA compliant Telehealth service that offers excellent video and audio, allowing you to engage in therapy from the comfort and convenience of your own home. I view therapy as a collaborative experience aimed at helping patients become the best version of themselves. I love working with patients who are motivated to make change and excited to learn more about who they are and how they navigate the world. I have a plethora of experience working with individuals and couples who have mood disorders, anxiety related disorders, complex physical and sexual abuse traumas, and those who have difficulty adjusting to life changes. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which is an active, structured, and goal oriented form of therapy that aims to uncover and change maladaptive patterns of thoughts and behaviors. Additionally, I practice EFT for couples and EMDR, CPT, PET, and WET for those with symptoms of PTSD. I'm glad to provide you more details on all modalities. Whether you're returning or going for the first time, therapy can be scary. I pride myself on creating a warm, accepting, and empathetic environment that aids patients in opening up and exploring themselves. I am direct with patients and encourage them to face things that make them uncomfortable so they're able to grow. If you're interested in a free phone consultation, please visit the website link under my photo. If you’re tired of overthinking everything, feeling stuck in the same patterns, or acting fine on the outside while struggling inside, you’re not alone. You don’t have to keep carrying it by yourself. I offer a warm and real space where you can slow down, feel understood, and figure out what’s happening beneath the surface. I’m an active and collaborative therapist. I help you connect the dots, explore the protective parts of yourself, and build tools you can actually use in daily life. Together, we work toward feeling more grounded, more confident, and more like yourself again.
After struggling with anxiety or depression for long enough, you may start to feel stuck. Anxiety and depression can make us think and act in ways that ironically leave us feeling even more anxious and depressed, creating a kind of "vicious cycle." Fortunately, advances in evidence-based therapies have given rise to interventions that can reliably interrupt this cycle, so you can stop struggling and start living. I work with my clients using cognitive-behavioral and humanistic approaches, and incorporate mindfulness-based interventions to decrease the impact of challenging thoughts and emotions, while simultaneously increasing engagement with who and what matters most. Your values and goals will guide our work together every step of the way.
You shouldn't have to tackle life's obstacles on your own. Working together collaboratively, my hope is to help my clients understand how they came to be the way they are and create a clear direction to overcome emotional obstacles and uncover strength and resilience. By exploring the past and also working toward a positive future, my goal is to work with one another to reduce guilt, shame and anxiety to be able to ease through life's transitions, overcome ambivalence, make good decisions, and have fulfilling relationships. I particularly like working with young adults, folks going through transitions, and those who have experienced trauma as a child. I also enjoy working with those who would like to incorporate psychotherapy into one's "self care" routine, as a time to slow down and gain deeper insight into one's own patterns. My training is in a variety of different types of psychotherapeutic interventions. I use an individualized approach, drawing from relational, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, EMDR, mindfulness and attachment based approaches to meet your needs. Together in our initial sessions, we can discuss what modality might work best for you. I believe a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is necessary to achieve optimal results in therapy, so I'd love to speak with you to see if we both think we are a good match. Please feel free to call for a free phone consultation!
I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions, offering a compassionate and personalized approach to therapy. By integrating CBT and psychodynamic therapies, I tailor our sessions to meet your unique needs. Whether you're dealing with low motivation, self-esteem issues, people-pleasing behaviors, an overactive mind, or communication challenges, I am here to help you find the path that works best for you. In our sessions, we'll work together to identify and transform unhelpful thinking patterns, paving the way for new perspectives and behaviors that break free from destructive cycles. By understanding the roots of these patterns, you'll cultivate self-compassion and achieve lasting change. My goal is to create a warm and safe environment where growth and healing can flourish. I am committed to supporting you every step of the way as you share your story and navigate your challenges. Together, we'll work towards the changes you desire, empowering you to move forward with confidence and clarity.
I work with adults and young adults that desire change in their lives. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, perfectionism, stress and life transitions. I specialize in helping my clients develop the tools needed to manage difficult emotions and create a healthier way of thinking. In my virtual practice I prominently use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as my treatment approach. I help you develop coping skills to manage emotions that are interfering with your day-to-day life. We simultaneously explore your underlying thoughts to create an understanding of why these emotions exist and how they can be overcome.
At Silk Counseling Group, we have a team of skilled therapists with diverse specialties and expertise, dedicated to helping you find the right fit for your unique needs. Let us guide you toward the support and care that works best for you.
Sometimes life can be very stressful due to a variety of barriers. Anxiety, depression, or stress can interrupt our lives and lead to despair. Sometimes we have the feeling that we are alone in this despair and that nothing can help us improve. Negative thinking and difficult emotions can lead to poor self-esteem and isolation from those we love, as well as difficulties attending to responsibilities or striving towards our goals in life. I believe all humans have the capacity to change and achieve our goals to transform into the best version of ourselves, and therapy can be the first step to achieving these goals. I am a licensed mental health counselor with a specialization in treating anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsion (OCD), trauma, substance abuse, interpersonal issues, men's issues, and child-adolescent issues. I have completed cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) training to help clients with negative thinking, achieve behavior change, and improve emotion-regulation skills. Life can appear stressful and scary at times, but it does not have to overwhelm you any longer. Taking the first step to begin therapy can be the path to recovery and gaining control of your life once again. I provide a warm and inviting environment for clients to feel listened to, understood, and respected. You are in control of your future, which starts now.
As a mental health professional in the age of the new millenium, I would describe my approach to helping people as integrative and holistic. As a therapist, I think it is crucial to create a loving, safe environment for each individual. Then specific to each individual, I create a plan integrating cognitive behavioral techniques, psychotherapy, visualization, relaxation, EMDR, hypnosis and reiki. Together with the client, we create a new positive self-image that can completely transform an individual's life. As Nelson Mandela said," Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure".
Hi, I'm glad you're here! I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-worth, and relationship issues, as well as chronic illness, and shifts in religious beliefs or identity. My approach is warm, flexible, and grounded in unconditional positive regard: in this space, you are accepted for exactly who you are. Sessions are unstructured and shaped by what feels most important in the moment, whether it's a current struggle or something rooted in your past. We'll go at your pace and explore what's getting in the way so you can move forward with more clarity, connection, and a stronger sense of who you are. I draw from psychodynamic, somatic, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) modalities, and incorporate dream work or parts work when helpful. My approach is collaborative (you know yourself the best, after all!) and relational. That means that in our sessions we attend not only to your life experiences but also to what unfolds between us, because those moments can give us insight into the dynamics of your relationships outside of therapy. I firmly believe we are all doing the best we can with the tools we have; there is no specific path or timeline we must follow. I invite you to bring your whole, imperfect self to the session, as I strive to do the same.
