I have a direct approach to helping people find more peace in their lives. No matter the diagnosis or issue, I tailor my practice to meet you where you are, in each moment.
I treat clients who struggle with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, eating problems, relationship concerns, and school and career difficulties. More generally, I work with clients who suffer from an inability to live life to its fullest and who want a more enriching life. I help clients explore their experience of themselves in relation to their past, present and hopes for the future. Together, we work toward understanding why you think and feel the way you do, as well as uncovering deeper factors that may lie outside of your awareness. This process will create spaces for healing and change. If you would like to experience this process of self-understanding in the context of a caring, supportive relationship, feel free to contact me today.

While they are a vital part of our lives and can bring us so much joy - relationships are complex! Think about it - although people spend years learning and practicing most key skills, many people have had limited opportunity learning about relationships and emotional skills. I work with people who are often very successful in many aspects of their lives, but who get stuck in emotional or relational patterns. They know they desire for things to be different and more satisfying but are not quite sure how to get there. That's where therapy can be a powerful platform for change! My goal is to create a therapeutic space where people can experience themselves and others in a new, more intimate, compassionate, and meaningful way. I then support clients as they do the essential work of translating these experiences to make concrete changes in their everyday lives. I've been both a therapist and a professor. New clients repeatedly tell me that they don't want to just talk but that they want to learn "tools". My background in teaching influences my ability to help clients master the tools they need to impact the changes they want.
My name is Keylea D’Arcy. I received my Master of Science in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University and my bachelor's degree in child development from Siena Heights University. I enjoy working with families and individuals of all ages and orientations. Using evidence-based practices helps individuals identify their true passion and belonging in the world, guiding them in learning how to cope with stress, anxiety, and depression. My therapeutic approach is integrative, blending elements from different methodologies to best fit your needs. I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey where each individual brings their unique stories, strengths, and challenges. My role is to listen deeply, understand your perspective, and respect your experiences. Together, we will explore the challenges you face, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop strategies to enhance your well-being. Our creative space together will be safe and comfortable, welcoming vulnerability, and beginning the growth process to reach your life's maximum potential.
Working with people who are struggling with their issues is very rewarding and humbling. It is always different, keeps me energized and feeling like I am in a small way contributing to a better world. I encourage people to make the effort to accept those parts of their personality that they don't feel good about because of how it will lead the way to change that allows us to connect more deeply with the ones we love. Self-understanding and acceptance is a critical focus of how I approach problems that are presented in therapy. It can be a very painful experience to be going through a rough time and have no one to talk to. Another approach of how I work is to assist others to be attentive, mindful, and curious about how their values, priorities, beliefs, and decisions shape the outcome and either help or hinder getting what they want. Most importantly, I encourage feedback from clients about how the therapy is helping or not, what I can do to make it more useful and if the chemistry is not right for us, I will help with a referral to another therapist.
I’m proud to live at the intersection of queer, transgender, Filipinx, and polyamorous experiences. As your therapist, I build on our overlapping or shared experiences as much as I welcome people from all walks of life. I facilitate a space for LGBTQ+, gender-expansive, neurodivergent, and consensually non-monogamous folks exploring their identities, emotion management, difficulties in interpersonal dynamics, and being an agent of change. I am excited to work with people of all genders, gender expressions, and sexual orientations. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and somatic perspectives to offer interventions that lead to insights and improve quality of life with a deepened connection to your senses. I encourage new and existing behaviors that help you be your personal best. Your story is yours to write, and I am looking forward to working with you on your next chapter.
I frequently work with clients who struggle with many things like depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, challenging relationships, or a loss of their sense of self that affects their relationships, ability to function, work, career, or day-to-day life. Clients often initially report feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, and lost by what it means to live up to someone else's standards, just having to get through the day, the thought that the overwhelm will never end, or other relatable problems. In my work with clients at Waterbrook Therapy, compassion, empathy, and care are at the heart of my practice. I believe all humans have a right to a safe space to express their emotions and thoughts authentically, and it is in creating this space with clients that I have helped them develop insight that leads to tangible change, learn coping skills that help regulate their nervous system, or simply provide psychoeducation regarding their mental health symptoms. Most importantly, I have worked with clients to learn about and discuss their feelings and thoughts in a way that enables them to process their experiences and create new narratives. I guide my clients to learn about their needs, values system, to build confidence, and to create boundaries that help them in their personal, professional, and romantic relationships. If you are interested in engaging in your life more authentically, or at the very least, learning more about yourself, please do not hesitate to reach out and schedule a free consultation with me!
You may be in a phase of life where something feels off—a disconnect or strain in your relationships or in yourself. Maybe you’ve been longing for something real and meaningful and haven’t found it yet. Our relationships, even the one we have with ourselves, shape how we love, trust, and connect. While they can be complex and challenging—especially when we don’t know how to navigate them—they can also become empowering once we learn to understand and nurture them. Whether you're stuck in old patterns or craving intimacy and connection with your partner, I offer a space where we’ll gently unpack what’s no longer working. Our work will be through a relational lens—collaborative and systemic, where we’ll slow things down, sit with the hard and tender parts, and begin to rebuild. We’ll use tools that feel right for you. Good therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all or a quick fix from an app. Healing takes time, care, and patience. Maybe something here resonated with you. Maybe it’s time for something different. I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist trained in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) working with couples, families, and individuals. If you’re feeling curious about starting therapy or my approach, schedule a free 20 min consultation to see if this is a good fit for you.
I pride myself on meeting my clients where they are to walk alongside them as they heal & create their best life. We all at times go through periods when processing, whether towards change or healing, becomes necessary. I hope to make that process a bit more comfortable, so that you are not alone, and also to help you move through your journey with integrity and intention. Many of my clients report feeling it to be easier to approach difficult topics due to us having a friendly relationship as a foundation. I believe that foundation is in part created due to our efforts in seeing and validating their own internal strengths. I work with adult individuals and couples. With compassion, patience, and directness I work collaboratively to assess and reflect with you, then draw from an eclectic background of trainings in healing from Trauma, incldg. EFT, SE, IFS, Gottman Method, CBT, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction that will help you achieve the quality of life you want. I am taking new clients on weekday mornings & afternoons. Write me an email to begin; I would be honored to work with you.
Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois, and I’m so glad you’re here! I am Somatic and Attachment Focused (SAFE) EMDR-Certified integrated therapist, with a School Social Worker PEL, though currently work with schools as a Consultant. I come into therapy with a central focus on compassion, connection, and safety. I am a Polyvagal Informed and Neurophysiology and neurofeedback, biofeedback, and tools for healing the point of (mal)adaptive patterned Nervous System because it is under these conditions that we find we can think at our best. It also means we learn as we are calm and safe, so we aren't on constant hypervigilance. When we build a safe space, clients begin to understand that the healing they desperately seek, is within them... Coaches and therapists may guide them or facilitate a path through motivational interviewing, and then teach mindfulness to allow observation by separating from the experience of whatever we're holding onto. Polyvagal theory explains an evolved Nervous System, which goes beyond the Default Mode Network, to include the Social Engagement System. Not only does it help explain what may be going on as challenging and overwhelming emotions come up. It allows ways to move through them. We practice; we use PVT informed tools that are integrated deeply, and allow for the process to move at the pace of the slowest part of the system of each client. Many other therapies are involved than the ones I mention, because, for example, we use mindfulness to notice our patterns that may have once saved us, now cause more harm. We use CBT, as we learn about Cognitive Distortions, and often ACT, values and action oriented, and often DBT, daily tools for emotion regulation. I am the founder of Liminal Horizons, PLLC. I am also a leader at Sensing Fields. One is primarily for psychotherapy, supervision, Consultations for school systems and Communities (and individuals), and finally agree in significant challenges stemming from Survival Patterns. We use Somatic Parts Work, IFS, Clinical Emotional Freedom Technique, Neuropsychotherapy, and neurophysiology, including neuro and biofeedback for uses such as enhancing the depth and speed of the healing. Polyvagal Inspired Protocols are two of the options clients offer, the Safe and Sound Protocol and the Integrated Listening System (there is an extra charge to use a license). They are actively being researched, and show amazing results so far, from helping build a wider window of tolerance. If it feels like we ALL need healing, you are intuitive! To succeed, a global movement must occur. WE ARE NOT THERE, and THIS doesn't mean it's your responsibility. My goal and mission is to ensure access to those who want to understand their strong feelings, health problems, emotional and physical pain (which show up in the same part of the brain) can do so. Anyone who is ready to feel better, lower emotional 'triggers' and physical pain, want to feel less stressed, and more gratitude and joy, YOU ARE In The RIGHT PLACE. Mental Health involves so many more factors than we realized, until very recently. I promise that you can heal. I have been through a vey low bottom, and I have healed. There's more to go; it's a journey. I am honored to share things I've learned and am excited about 'ripple effects' of healing individuals and then communities, and onward and upward.
