Hello, my name is Chris Dougherty, and I am a licensed professional counselor in the great state of Georgia. I am a counselor because I believe all people can and do get better with the proper guidance.
Hi, I am Ms. Reed, a family and marriage therapist licensed in Georgia with six years of experience working as a therapist. I have a passion for helping others and the willingness and reliability to assist with each client's concerns.
Hi, I'm Jasmine McCully. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. Throughout my career, I have worked in various settings that include private practice, hospitals, non-profits, government, behavioral health outpatient clinics and treatment facilities, and inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities. Inviting someone into your most personal space can be intimidating, scary, and daunting. Getting to this point of reading my bio is a huge step. Just know that I am SUPER excited that you have taken that step! Some of the therapy approaches I utilize are cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance, and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy, and client-centered therapy. I also integrate mindfulness, journaling, and meditation, just to name a few!
My name is DeLasea "Renee" Sloan, LPC. I have been working in the field of Mental Health for over 18 years. I utilize a fusion of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Holistic, Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT), Solution Focused Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Reality Therapy, Intervention, etc.
My name is Kevin Larkins, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Atlanta, Georgia, and working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults. I specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, couples therapy, substance abuse, bipolar do, relationship issues, interpersonal conflict, LGBTQIA issues, and trauma-related issues, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Solution-focused, Anger resolution and Acceptance, and Commitment Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. The needs of each person I work with determine how I approach therapy. Because each of the frequently used modalities aid in the development of a strong therapeutic alliance between the client and me, I most usually employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance, Interpersonal, Person-entered. Solution-focused, EMDR, DBT, Family systems, Reality therapy, and Commitment Therapy. The above-mentioned modalities will enable us to collaborate to find a shared understanding of their reality. I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for teens, young adults, families, and couples who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures. Additionally, my approach also provides a safe space for the LGBTQIA community, which may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and interpersonal conflict. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life. My communication style is assertive, calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. I made the decision to pursue a career in therapy because I have always wanted to assist others. Whether it was serving as a peer counselor in school, doing community service, or being a dependable and devoted friend, I have always come by it naturally. I am drawn to assisting those going through adversity. I like to watch people develop into their best selves. Working together to determine your goals for our time together is the foundation of my method for setting goals with clients. Often, this begins with us developing trust and becoming at ease with what it means to be in treatment. Together, we'll set goals and monitor your progress over time. You may anticipate that at our initial meeting, we will discuss extensively how you've been feeling lately, and I will ask you questions to help me understand some of the possible causes of those feelings. The goal of the first session is to establish a rapport between us and give me some direction for the future. Since every person is unique, I like to listen to you before assuming I understand what will benefit you most going forward.
My work is grounded in a trauma-informed lens that honors both the pain and resilience shaped by your life experiences. Many of my clients come to me feeling unseen, overextended, or burdened by expectations—often carrying the weight of childhood responsibility, grief, or unresolved guilt. Together, we explore these experiences with compassion and curiosity, helping you reconnect with your emotions, rebuild trust in yourself, and find steadiness in the present moment. If you’ve experienced trauma, loss, or life changes that left you feeling disconnected or “not yourself,” I am here to help. You don’t have to carry it alone. Are you ready to move forward and take back control of your life? Let’s collaborate to develop a plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re seeking individual counseling or couples therapy, I’m here to provide the guidance and support you need to make positive changes.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as elements of mindfulness in my therapy practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then over the initial sessions, we will collaborate to create a plan to address your concerns and goals in a way that meets your expectations and desired outcome. I'm glad you stopped by! I'm an Arkansas native (most people never met anyone from there) while going to college and living in Louisiana for a number of years before moving to Georgia over 10 years ago. I have been a therapist for over 15 years and I've worked in almost every setting of mental health except with inpatient hospitalization treatment. I have also worked with varying ages and backgrounds. I'm licensed in several states and have specializations in Anger Management, Supervision, and EMDR. My approach is very person-centered with a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, and Emotionally Focused. I believe in working with clients where they are and helping them along their own therapeutic journey. So you're the driver of your own car! I believe the approach depends on whomever I am working with and their need at the present moment. Though eclectic in nature the modalities I most often utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Client Centered. I have only one request for clients: Be open to the process! Other than that, I have and will work with pretty much anyone who meets that requirement. I have a very fun-loving tone and demeanor but I can also be very assertive in order to help you along the therapeutic process when necessary. I listen actively and with great intent so I'm able to help piece information together in an organized fashion even when thought processes may be disorganized or scattered. I always had a natural affinity for helping people as long as I can remember! It didn't take me long to figure out after writing my senior paper in high school about Sigmund Freud what I needed to do! Once I was clear, I made a plan and completed my BA in Psychology and got an MA in Counseling from the same institution. I tell people therapy chose me! I know that working in this field is definitely a calling and not just a career choice (at least for me anyway). Successful care is when a client is more self-aware about who they are as an authentic person and not afraid to walk in their truth. By being able to express that to others and not be limited by both internalexternal factors, one can live an overall healthy life. The first session with me isn't a typical, formal experience. I like to think of two people just having a "conversation ". Although I do like to get a sense of your background, who you are, and what you may have challenges with, I believe developing a good rapport and healthy therapeutic connection is vital from the beginning.
At Heal and Thrive Counseling, we help our clients become empowered in their situation. Whether it may be a diagnosis, a trauma, loss of a loved one, or a sudden change in one's life, we help clients work through the uncomfortableness to become more empowered and satisfied in their lives and with themselves. My personal approach is authentic and genuine, combined with real-life experiences. Together, we will find what happiness looks like to you and work toward this goal. We only have ourselves to make the difference that we want. Choosing a counselor is a personal process. All counselors are different and are going to have their own ways of treating clients. My approach is human-centered, which means that my main focus is on you and on your needs. Once we have established the issues you are coping with, we will approach which type of therapy is best for you.
I work with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem, grief, and addictions. I am caring, and empathic, and hope to help you become the best version of yourself so that you can live your most fulfilling future! I use a variety of interventions including CBT, DBT, Person-centered focus, solution-based focus, and mindfulness. Have you ever felt depressed, anxious, or not good enough? Do you ever wonder how to move past a traumatic incident from your past? I love being able to help someone realize their full potential, become the best version of themselves, and lead a happy life. I use active listening and reflection. I like for my clients to feel safe and secure talking about any topics in their sessions. In our first session, I will ask a variety of questions that cover multiple areas of your life to get a better understanding of your underlying issues and find ways to best address your issues at hand.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am passionate about helping individuals thrive and I believe that everyone is capable of doing amazing things when given the right opportunities and environment to succeed. I have found joy in helping individuals become healthier versions of themselves. I have worked within specialized high acuity programs and within traditional outpatient settings, so no matter the setting or the level of care needed, I can be adaptable and dynamic enough to handle challenges with great empathy and understanding. I am an adolescent and adult therapist. I believe in looking at an individual's whole health - their mind, body, and spirit, as they are interconnected, in order to create balance. I utilize a strengths-based approach to empower individuals while helping them to build their hope and resiliency. I have a lot of experience working with individuals struggling with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, etc., individuals who have experienced trauma, and individuals struggling with navigating relationships or life transitions. My top modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I also incorporate trauma-focused treatment and mindfulness. I believe the therapeutic relationship is very important and a key aspect of a client’s success. To choose to commit to therapy is a decision that takes great strength, courage, and vulnerability but it is also so very rewarding. The ideal client is one who is willing to commit to this journey of whole health and healing by doing the work needed. As your therapist, I am willing to commit to helping you along this journal and to work just as hard for you as you are willing to work for yourself. My communication style is very open and empathetic. A significant part of building a therapeutic relationship is my ability to listen to clients and make them feel heard and understood. I am engaging, positive, warm, friendly, and attuned with my clients. I utilize reflective listening skills to ensure we are able to connect and to ensure I get to know clients personally. I believe the details matter and that it is a privilege to hear someone’s story. I come from a close family unit, and I am the oldest of two children, so I have always been accustomed to caring for others. Before even attending university, I knew I wanted to build a career focused on helping others. Along the way, I found social work and I have not looked back since. I have earned both my bachelor's and master’s degree in Clinical Social Work which allowed me to not only focus on my clinical skills but also it allowed me the opportunity to gain more understanding of people, and the differences amongst us that make us all unique, how the systems in which we were raised within affect us and how to identify the strengths within each of us. I have worked with various populations and within all levels of care and my background has truly given me the ability to empathize and understand people in a unique way and has continually ignited my passion for helping others. I believe in meeting clients where they are in life and helping to guide them to where they need to be. This journey is about progress, not perfection and everyone is capable of change if they are willing to change. My goal is that each client is able to learn ways to better navigate challenges, cope with stressors, and become a healthier version of themselves over time. During our first session, we will begin getting to know each other. I will ask several questions to gain insight into your background, challenges, and goals for treatment over time to ensure that we are both working towards the same goals. This is also your opportunity to get to know me and ask any questions to aid with building our therapeutic relationship.
