As a therapist, I believe every client is unique and deserves a personalized approach to help them identify their individual challenges and develop an effective plan for growth and change.
Welcome! My name is Andrea, and I am a licensed professional counselor. I am dedicated to fostering mental health and well-being in individuals facing a range of challenges. With a compassionate and client-centered approach, I work collaboratively with clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, helping them develop effective coping strategies. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues. Whether seeking guidance through a difficult time or looking for personal growth, I am here to support you.
Tara Sanders is an LPC (licensed professional counselor) and has been in the mental health field for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University and earned her Master of Science degree from Abilene Christian University. She has a wide range of career experience that allows her to adapt to the varied needs of her clients. Her diverse experience was derived from working in an all-male maximum-security prison, her position as a school counselor to provide counseling services to children in need of temporary, situational, and/or ongoing emotional challenges, her years acting as a mobile crisis assessor, and her role as supervisor for a state-wide crisis hotline. Additionally, she worked as a Military Family Life Counselor for 10 years overseas in Europe (Germany and Italy) and stateside. Tara believes that individuals who are entering counseling should feel comfortable and safe, which is why she uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an approach that highlights channeling negative thoughts into positive ones. She believes that stressors in one’s life can feel unmanageable, but she helps her clients to maximize their resiliency and come to view the challenge as a bump in the road -a bump that can be moved past into a successful, healthier path. Her goal is for all her patients to become open to gaining new perspectives and be willing to explore family dynamics and upbringings that have developed them into the people they are today. Tara works with her clients to assist them with changing any self-defeating thoughts and behaviors. She truly believes that caring for yourself and your relationships are the most important tasks that you will ever have.
I work alongside clients to help them alleviate the discomfort they feel as it relates to anxiety, depression, or trauma. I also work with couples to improve communication and emotional and spiritual intimacy. I work from a Christian Worldview and incorporate prayer, Bible reading, and devotionals in the therapy process, should clients want to incorporate their faith.
I integrate an eclectic range of therapeutic approaches to support each person on their unique path toward healing and growth. I believe deeply in the human capacity for resilience and positive change, and I’m passionate about helping clients rediscover hope—even in the midst of pain. My intention is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your story without judgment, gain deeper self-awareness, and begin to heal from the experiences that have left you feeling stuck or unseen. I view therapy as a collaborative process—one that honors your strengths, values, and lived experiences. Together, we’ll work to rebuild relationships, foster emotional balance, and move from places of struggle or oppression toward greater freedom, connection, and fulfillment. I believe that every individual has the potential not just to survive, but to truly thrive—with a renewed sense of purpose, meaning, and possibility.
I work with each client as a team effort. Each client I see has their own story and unique perspective on that story, and I believe that within that story are the seeds to healing. My approach to helping my clients is in seeing each of my clients as a whole person who is struggling with something, whether it is anxiety, depression, relationships issues, substance abuse, communication, parenting, trauma, etc. Most often it is how we perceive a situation or a struggle that defines how we deal with it or respond to it. I hope that I can help you with whatever your struggle may be, and to help you rewrite your story. My favorite book of all time is Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. One of the many wonderful things he says in that book is "When we are no longer able to change a situation we are challenged to change ourselves."
