Hello, I'm Joe! I specialize in ADHD, Anxiety, and Depression- help with overwhelm, feeling stuck, and improving focus, (Neurodivergent and LGBTQ friendly). “And how do you feel about that?” - Says every TV Show ever. I prefer therapy to be more like a conversation than an interrogation! From personal experience, I know that mixing anxiety with opening up to a stranger isn’t exactly anyone’s idea of fun. That’s exactly what it felt like the first time I went to my own therapy . Trust me I'm chill! My goal is to make this process as relaxed and low-pressure as possible. “I want things to be different, but I don’t know where to start.” Whether you are constantly overwhelmed, feel like you can't focus, or just want life to be less crappy- I'd be honored to walk with you. I know how intimidating starting therapy can be, (I avoided it way too long myself). But I hope you give it a try. Check out my website to schedule with me or have a free consultation call!

For nearly a decade, I've walked with literally hundreds of clients through some of their darkest times. Helping others is something that I cherish and love to do. After 25 years of working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families, I continue to have great enthusiasm and demonstrate empathy, compassion, and concern. My approach is to help people identify their strengths and assist them on building upon these strengths to improve their self esteem and accomplish set goals. I have worked successfully with children who have behavior problems and have helped them learn to become more focused and control their behavior by using behavioral modification techniques and working closely with their family. Assisting people in developing effective coping skills to better overcome any crisis or obstacle is an essential part of the treatment. Helping them find the right and appropriate tools to effectively solve their problems is what I strive to do. Many people are resistant to begin therapy. I create a safe, trusting, and comfortable environment helping people feel more at ease. When working with a person who is anxious or depressed, I use cognitive behavioral therapy to reduce their symptoms. As I am bilingual in English and Spanish, I conduct treatment in both languages. I welcome the opportunity to work with all families.
Tired of figuring it all out on your own? Counseling could be an important next step in your life-a new journey into greater health and wholeness. I see my role as an expert guide to bring understanding into your emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Because life is often played out in the context of relationships, these emotions, thoughts, and behaviors not only impact your view of self, but also the world around you. When we talk about the past, it will be for the purpose of healing difficult memories or gaining a greater understanding of how your past affects your present. I have an eclectic approach to therapy drawing from over 12 years of experience working with individuals and couples. I come from a Christian perspective and am an expert at using your Christian beliefs as part of the process. Yet, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey, I highly individualize my approach. Specialty areas include but are not limited to: anxietystress management, depression, griefloss, couplesfamily conflict, premarital, divorce recovery, transitions, singleness, and spiritual issues. If you are interested in growing as an individual andor becoming closer as a couple, I'd love to help. My desire is that through therapy you may not only gain greater understanding of your own emotions, thoughts, and behaviors and improve your relationships; but that you also obtain greater hope, stronger faith, and develop a larger capacity for love.
With all the stresses in the world, you don't have to face it alone. I can support you in healing old wounds and transforming patterns that can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or discouraged. It can be challenging trying to navigate your own struggles and needs. I believe therapy works best with collaboration, so let's work together to find the most effective methods of meeting your goals. I have experience with diverse populations from different socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, with a wide range of concerns, including mood issues, depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, stress management, cultural issues, adjustment and transitions, identity concerns, self-esteem, anger management, and emotional regulation.
