Are you unsatisfied or in emotional pain from a life transition, sudden unexpected loss or barriers to life goals, relationship problems, andor just feeling stuck and unfulfilled? By exploring your past experiences and examining present issues with you, we can determine better thinking, behavioral, and relationship patterns that would enhance your potential and then you can decide which of my counseling strategies and possible skills that fit you best. My role is to help you resolve your life issues so you can sustain a more satisfied, happier life. I offer motivation enhancement techniques (MET), cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), solution-focused methods, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and relaxation exercises, and talk therapy to aid in the reduction of symptoms associated with trauma, grief, anger, anxiety, and depression. I am a dedicated professional helping people overcome hardship (grief, sadness, and fear), and improving their lives through goal achievement and behavioral change. I am passionate about client care and developing a therapeutic rapport. I provide unconditional acceptance in a friendly environment that allows the examination of choices in making life decisions. I counsel adults of all ages, genders, and cultures as well as couples. I offer flexible appointment times and I am available to meet in person or online via user-friendly doxy.me. I accept insurance from Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Connecticare, United Health Care, and Optum, but also offer a self-pay fee of $100.00 for weekly 53–60-minute counseling sessions. You may click the link to call me to schedule a free 15–20-minute initial consult. My hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 12 noon to 8 pm and Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Saturdays are by appt only and closed on Sundays.
I am truly passionate about supporting my clients in their process to gain deeper self-understanding and to foster personal growth through self-compassion. I work from a place of genuine curiosity about my client’s lives and relationships, respecting each person’s path as unique. I take a warm, supportive, and collaborative approach, using the information you present (or, in some cases, avoid) to help you make sense of the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may undermine your relationships and productivity. Though I am trained in a variety of therapies, I primarily work from a psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral perspective. I may also draw upon other complementary practical approaches, such as mindfulness skills based on your needs and goals. Whether you are holding on to limiting beliefs or old narratives that no longer apply, whether you are seeking more joy in life or yearning for more fulfilling relationships, embarking on the journey of self-discovery with a compassionate and accepting other is a powerful first step. I look forward to joining you on that journey.
Change is the only constant in life, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is easy! Pain is an indicator that something isn't working and it is time for change. Like most things worthwhile, change requires hard work. Guiding you through the process of change is my lifework. Whatever your struggle, I'm here to work through it with you --you are not alone! The purpose of psychotherapy is to help you improve your life by making meaningful changes. A good therapist should, first and foremost, be able to help you reduce the immediate distress that has pushed you to look for treatment. Once that initial relief is accomplished, the way is then cleared to focus on the bigger-picture of your life: your beliefs and feelings about yourself and others, your interpersonal style, the usual ways in which you protect yourself from getting hurt, the influence of your childhood experiences, and many other factors, including highlighting and using your hard-won strengths, all with the aim of bringing about changes that lead to lasting improvements in quality of life.

With expertise in psychotropics and evidence-based practices, I address the unique mental, emotional, and physical needs of each individual. My goal is to empower patients through education, collaboration, and tailored treatment plans, fostering resilience and sustainable wellness.
I am committed to providing empathetic treatment that progresses at your pace. We will work together collaboratively to identify goals and make a plan to achieve them. It is important for me to provide you with a warm and genuine experience in therapy in order to feel comfortable and not judged. My passion as a therapist is to help facilitate your healing and personal growth.
Life can be challenging, and it's okay to seek support when you're feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Whether you're dealing with physical symptoms or emotional struggles, there's often more beneath the surface than meets the eye. As a Biodecodage practitioner, I offer a safe space to explore the deeper roots of your experiences. For those with physical symptoms, we'll uncover how these might connect to unresolved emotional conflicts. If you're facing emotional challenges without physical manifestations, we'll work together to trace these feelings back to their origins so that they no longer trigger you. Through our journey together, we'll identify the root cause of recurring emotional patterns or conflicts. My approach is tailored to your unique needs, whether you're seeking more tools to tackle your physical symptoms or looking to resolve persistent emotional conflicts. Together, we'll work towards finding clarity, peace, and a deeper understanding of yourself. Remember, seeking help is a courageous step towards healing. Whenever you're ready to begin this journey of self-discovery and growth, I'm here to support you.
In therapy with me, you will be welcome, just as you are, as we work together to understand your unique circumstances. We'll look closely at what causes you pain, how you can have a new experience of yourself, and what is possible in your life. You may be coming to therapy because you are suffering, you feel stuck, or you simply want to know yourself better. Here's what you can expect from me: I will listen to you with my whole self. I will challenge your assumptions. I will try to see into some of your blind spots. And I will do my best to help you have a fresh and surprising encounter with yourself, one that you can draw upon long after you leave the session. Therapy can help enormously if there is a good match between the therapist and the client. I invite you to contact me to see if we would work well together.
My approach to helping you is supportive, non-judgmental, and honest. In order to help, sometimes you need guidance, direction, information, or just a listening ear. I feel it is important to create a safe place in which you feel free to explore your struggles, questions, and give a voice to the reality of your life. With awareness comes the choice to change.
Are you a man who is really hard on himself? Are you exhausted trying to keep everyone happy? Overwhelmed by work, family or other demands? You could be someone questioning life decisions (getting caught in "I wish I had done..."). You could also be someone who is anxious or obsesses and unable to stop the cycle. We will work as a team to uncover tools and gain insight to improve the quality of your life. I provide a judgement-free, supportive space for men. I also work with many men who are pursuing counseling for the first time. For over 20 years, my career reflects a commitment to helping others. I had the honor of receiving the 2007 WBJ Healthcare Hero award for my work in an ER (learn more at website link). Please note: At this time, I do not work with persons dealing with current legal issues. Call or email me to set up a free phone consultation.
At our practice, we work with clients who are ready to better understand themselves and move through patterns that may be holding them back. Many of the people we see struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, or stress—especially in relationships and work settings. We recognize how challenging this can feel, and we’re here to support you in processing those emotions while learning healthier ways to cope. Our therapy goals often include building emotional resilience, improving self-esteem, and gaining clarity around the choices you make. Above all, we want you to feel safe, supported, and empowered as you grow, reflect, and heal. We provide compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to your needs, drawing from (CBT), (CPT), (DBT), (EXP), and Solution-Focused Therapy. We can help you explore emotions, shift unhelpful patterns, and strengthen coping skills—allowing you to feel more balanced, connected, and in control. We know reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and it takes real courage to take that first step. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of someone to talk to, you are not alone. Together, we can create a space for healing, clarity, and meaningful change
I help adults as they get ready to make important changes in their lives. I value working with people from various religious backgrounds, nationalities, sexual orientations, and ethniccultural identities and as my client, I commit to ensuring that you feel seen and valued. Clients can expect to gain self-knowledge, to find clarity and acceptance, to feel empowered and capable, and to learn practical skills and strategies. Whatever you are facing, whatever life has thrown your way, you are not alone.
