Hello! I'm an associate marriage and family therapist with a variety of experience working in community mental health settings. I'm grateful to have had amazing opportunities to work with a variety of age groups, cultures, and populations. I received my Master of Science in school-based family counseling and marriage and family therapy from California State University, Los Angeles, and my Bachelor of Arts in geography from the University of California, Berkeley. Since childhood, I've always felt emotions deeply and often found myself listening and supporting others in both personal and professional capacities, which led me to pursue a career as a mental health professional. My lived experiences as a first-generation Filipina-American have set the foundation for my work as a culturally competent, trauma-informed, and person-centered clinician. I deeply understand the impacts that intergenerational trauma, family dynamics, and expectations have on the way one sees and shows up in the world. I have supported school-aged children, teens, adults, couples, and families navigate life transitions, family conflicts, anxiety, depression, and grief using a family-systems, strengths-based, attachment theory, and somatic framework. For my work with couples, I am excited to utilize theories and techniques from emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to help improve communication, understand relational dynamics, and resolve conflicts, thereby enhancing relationship satisfaction, creating a setting for growth, and facilitating healing. I provide a warm, non-judgmental, and client-led space for you to explore parts of yourself, relationships, and curiosities as you work towards becoming your most authentic self. I will join you wherever you are in your journey to untangle patterns, ambivalence, and disconnects in your life that may be impeding how you show up for yourself and in your relationships. I strongly believe that the healing that happens within will naturally radiate outward. I value authenticity and collaboration—we are a team. I am committed to helping you understand yourself, set healthy boundaries, and meet your individual needs. You are the expert of your life, and I'm just along for the ride. I am an evaluating psychologist with more than 20 years of experience and a practice grounded in health psychology. My specialties are in psychodiagnostic evaluation and medical-legal report-writing for cases pertaining to industrial injury — serving as QME for contested cases in workers compensation. In addition, I am a senior-level evaluating psychologist and expert witness for cases pertaining to the following: • Personal injury & civil cases • Pre-surgical clearance • Immigration (N-648, VAWA, asylum, U-visa, T-visa, hardship waiver) • Disability benefits for veterans & active-duty servicemembers My training has included a post-doctoral fellowship in Neurodevelopment at Harvard Medical School at McLean Hospital, Center for Neurodevelopmental Services – where I subsequently served as an instructor of Psychology and staff psychologist. Beyond hospitals, my previous work settings have included primary care clinics, neuropsychology clinics, and private practice. While I am trained and experienced in neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental evaluation, I do not provide this currently, nor do I provide therapy or counseling services. My state licenses are in California, Massachusetts, and Hawaii.
I deeply value peoples' ability to be honest and kind to themselves so they can recognize when change is needed, but also forgive themselves for having struggled... because struggling is human. We all struggle, we all make mistakes, and we all have been in a place where we may not have presented as our best selves. Things in life can be difficult and we may lose sight of our importance and value in this life. I want you to know that I am here to remind you that you matter and that you are so much stronger than you realize or may give yourself credit for. I am here to help you recognize detrimental patterns that were once helpful and no longer serve a purpose, and also find strengths that you can utilize to help you live a fulfilling life that you are proud of. Together we will explore the motivations behind the patterns that currently get in your way, so you can begin your journey to where you deserve to be. I have experience working with all ages of clients that have struggled with ADHD, trauma, grief, communication, relationships, self-esteem, and more. I am incredibly passionate about working with couples and assisting with identifying the deeper roots of their struggles, so each member can get what they need and the couple can rebuild from the ground up.
Life stressors are very high for many people these days. If you are seeking to make sense of why you feel and think the way you do, please feel free to reach out to me. In the first session, I will focus on building a connection with you to understand the reasons for your suffering and work together to help you feel better. Most clients feel a shift and improvement within themselves in the first few sessions. I am a clinical psychologist with an integrative approach. I focus on the clinical relationship and draw upon emotion-centered, dialectical, and cognitive-behavioral theories. I will help you identify areas of suffering, including maladaptive thought patterns and current life stressors, in an effort to help you improve your overall well-being. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone besides your loved ones or friends, someone who will have a more objective and professional look at your situation and problems. These days, many people are said to be more isolated, lonely, and anxious due to circumstances beyond their control. I understand and want you to know that you do not have to feel alone.
If you’ve found yourself here, chances are you’re tired—not just physically, but emotionally. You’ve been holding it together for so long, trying to keep moving forward even when life feels heavier than it should. Maybe you’re struggling with the weight of past trauma, relationship challenges that keep repeating, or the pressure of school, work, or illness that leaves you feeling lost or disconnected from yourself. Whatever brings you here, please know you don’t have to carry it alone anymore. In our work together, therapy becomes your space to breathe again. My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I don’t believe in quick fixes or surface-level advice. Instead, I’ll meet you where you are without judgment or pretense, and help you uncover the patterns, beliefs, and emotions that are keeping you stuck. I’ll help you recognize the strengths you already have, and together, we’ll build new tools to help you feel more balanced, empowered, and at peace with yourself. You’ll find that sessions with me are structured, but never rigid. There’s room for reflection, laughter, and even quiet moments, because sometimes silence gives space for healing, too. I listen to understand, not just to respond. I’ll guide you through practical techniques to manage stress and emotional pain, and when you’re ready, we’ll go deeper, exploring the “why” behind what you’re feeling so you can begin to truly heal rather than just cope. I use evidence-based approaches such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to help you process painful experiences, change unhelpful thought patterns, and reconnect with your inner strength. But beyond methods and theories, what makes therapy with me unique is the relationship we’ll build. My clients often tell me that they feel genuinely seen and understood, sometimes for the first time in their lives. I believe trust and consistency are the foundation of healing, and I take that responsibility to heart. If we work together, you can expect compassion, honesty, and partnership. I’ll advocate for you when you’ve forgotten how to advocate for yourself. I’ll help you learn self-care that goes deeper than bubble baths and breaks—care that restores your mind, body, and spirit. And slowly, you’ll begin to feel lighter, clearer, and more capable of creating the life you want to live. You don’t have to be “fixed.” You just need space to heal and someone to help you find your way there. If you’re ready to begin that journey, I’d be honored to walk beside you.
